While we artists are losing safe spaces to post our art online and away from all of these awful tech people you have to realize that the only way to supplement this is to create a website and a newsletter. That is the only way to try to detach yourself from social media.

Threads, IG, FB, Twitter, Tiktok, YT and even here are all awful while alternatives have management controversy or haven't built themselves the rapport to be a serious contender. This is something that I've been thinking about for awhile now.

Honestly, that is driving me to want to work on creating an open source art website similar to that of old DeviantArt, but is going to take some time to iron out the development of it. What can be done now is to find different alternatives outside of social media bc it not reliable anymore.

It is understandable that many of us are tired rebuilding our audiences but that is a part of being an artist, now in this day in age. After the whole DeviantArt boom, there really hasn't been any good alternatives when going to other social media.

Update: As we wind down the season with Stellarcon MD in Nov., there will be a few things that are expected to change from now into the new year. One being, I will no longer use Ko-Fi for an alternative storefront. The reason for that is that shipping out products through it is not robust.

Long term plans also include some custom art services to be provided on Big Cartel such as sticker making and production of personal sticker sheets. Custom commissions will be offered for those options. There will also be digital assets and later some ych merchandise in the future.

That is the alternative for some international orders of products that are and are not in my shop and Etsy. If you are looking to order internationally, I recommend that POD service and Etsy. I am working on updating my Etsy with all of my print products to make it easier for international folks.

Now since the POD service is new, long term is making the move to Shopify to support the shop integration and keep all of my products in one place. However, I would like to see how ACGGoods goes to see whether or not, I will make the switch. For now, my main store will remain on Big Cartel.

With that being said, I am introducing a POD service through Wooacry called ACGGoods. I have created some of my most recent products using Wooacry's services and it makes it much easier for me to transfer my designs over to them to create products for you guys.

Don't want to go too in depth with the manufacturing discourse that is happening but there are people that expect things to be handed resources on a silver platter than research/ trial or error products. Do you know how much imperfect merch from Alibaba manus artists have? It is not easy.

But the funniest thing out of it was the fact that OP shared acorncharms, a manu that many of us have a "do not use" warning on it because they are a manu that doesn't follow through with deadlines, owes merch, lacks comm. skills due to the influx of people recommending their services on Tumblr....

It was so bad that there have been callout posts about them around 2016/17 and they are still taking orders and not following through with deadlines. Last year, didn't print someone designs meant for a con. So please do your research and set some quality standards for your art merch business.
