Trump said he doesn’t “give a damn” that you continue to struggle with higher gas prices. All that matters is that his Big Oil buddies are making millions off the high prices. Trump and Republicans make policies to benefit the rich — NOT the everyday American.

ICE can’t run lawless through our neighborhoods harassing, assaulting, & arresting anyone just because people are Latino. This was reportedly a U.S. citizen, so they clearly don’t care who they go after. Being Latino in Long Beach or LA is not a crime. These ICE agents need to be held accountable.

Thank you to all our families who came to our check presentation to celebrate this new funding I secured for Normandale Park, and to hear how the upgrades to the recreation center and the new LAPD substation will make this park more accessible and safer for all.

Three weeks before the midterms, Trump is pulling out every dirty trick to harm our democracy & continue his attacks on people he sees as political enemies. It is unAmerican to weaponize federal law enforcement against anyone —let alone a sitting Congresswoman. I stand with @repilhan.bsky.social.

As California’s Congressional Democrats, our statement is clear: NO President should compromise the safety of any American city and the hardworking families who live there. Trump’s attacks on Los Angeles and San Diego are unprecedented and dangerous.

The President’s job is to protect Americans — not offer cities that he disagrees with as targets. This is reckless, dangerous, disgusting rhetoric that puts millions of Americans in harm’s way. Trump is unfit to be president.

At our roundtable, mothers across #CA44 shared how cuts to SNAP and rising gas prices have forced them to look for extra jobs, dip into savings, struggle with child care costs, cut out fresh, nutritious foods, and discontinue their children’s after school activities.

Happy Filipino American History Month! In October, we celebrate the incredible contributions Filipino Americans have made to our country’s history and culture. From labor to public service to the arts & health care— we’re recognizing the leadership Filipino Americans have showcased for generations.

Abortion care is health care. Women need the right to make decisions about their health care. The Hyde Amendment, passed 50 years ago today, prevents that from happening by making it harder for women to receive abortion care coverage.

Just voted NO on Republicans’ resolutions that will attack California’s clean air protections, to prevent pollution from ships at our ports. We can’t let Republicans raise Americans’ costs again so polluting corporations can make more money by harming the air and health of our port communities.

Together — students, alumni, community and university leaders — explored how Latinos shape public policy at the local, state, and national levels. We also reflected on personal journeys in public service and how we can keep the door open for our next generation of leaders.
