On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we celebrate the rich cultures and contributions of Native Americans and Tribal Nations, and recognize their enduring resilience. We must honor Indigenous voices, protect their heritage, and ensure their stories are never forgotten.

This is exactly why I introduced the Voter Purge Protection Act. No eligible American should be wrongly kicked off the voter rolls because of faulty data or an unjustified purge. The right to vote is sacred. We should be protecting it—not putting it at risk. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/25/u...

nytimes.comSupreme Court Allows Expansive Federal Database for Voter ScreeningCritics of a citizenship database built by the Trump administration have raised alarms about privacy and improper voter purges.

On 9/11, we honor the lives lost, the heroes who served, and the families forever changed by the attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. Twenty-five years later, we are committed to remembering their courage and their sacrifice. Never forget.

This Labor Day, we celebrate the hardworking Americans who keep our country moving forward. They deserve leadership that puts them and their families first. I’ll continue fighting for America’s working families—today and every day.

We have lost an absolute champion for women’s rights in Gloria Steinem. A proud Ohioan and lifelong advocate for gender equity, she taught us that anything is possible when women are at the table. She will be deeply missed, and her legacy will endure.

nytimes.comGloria Steinem, Personification of the Feminist Movement, Dies at 92She challenged sexist assumptions, helping women develop a sense of self-worth and gain a measure of equality at work, at home and in society at large.

61 years ago, the VRA was signed into law, expanding voting rights for millions of Americans. Now, those same rights are under attack. Congress must pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to strengthen these protections and safeguard our democracy. PROTECT VOTING RIGHTS.✊🏾

Today marks the anniversary of the signing of Medicare and Medicaid into law—landmark programs that have expanded health care access. Yet, Republicans are trying to strip these programs from Americans. I’m recommitting myself to the fight to protect the people that rely on this lifesaving care.🏥

Today is Black Women’s Equal Pay Day. Black women have long been told we have to work twice as hard for less—and far too often, that’s still the reality. I’m proud to cosponsor the Black Women’s Equal Pay Day Resolution because equal work deserves equal pay. #BlackWomensEqualPayDay

Heartbroken by the loss of three courageous American service members in Jordan. I am keeping their families and loved ones in my thoughts during this difficult time. Together, we honor their service, sacrifice, and memory.

Trump’s election claims last night were self-serving, dangerous, and put our democracy at risk. And the ‘SAVE’ Act won’t protect our elections—it’s a voter suppression bill that creates more barriers to the ballot box.

Today, I remember my dear friend and colleague, Congressman John Lewis, and recommit to getting into “good trouble” in defense of our democracy. Thank you, John. We will carry your legacy forward.

Todd Blanche’s terrible leadership of Trump’s corrupt DOJ, has already put Americans at risk. He’s only loyal to Trump’s agenda - not the rule of law. The Senate must reject his confirmation.

Acting CFPB Director Vought doesn’t know what the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) is— how embarrassing. Every community deserves a seat at the table. The CFPB is required to have an OMWI, and I’m not letting this administration neglect people who need equitable policies.

High interest rates and rising housing costs are putting homeownership further out of reach for working families. Today in the Financial Services Committee, I pressed Fed Chair Kevin Warsh on the Fed's role in mortgage affordability — because all Americans deserve a fair shot at a stable home.
