After severe flooding and storms caused $3.1 million in damage across Carroll County, federal disaster aid has been approved to help communities recover & rebuild. Along with the NH delegation, I urged the administration to approve this funding. I’m glad it’s now being delivered to our communities.

Granite Staters should not foot the bill for this administration’s reckless actions. I’ve continued to call for the suspension of the gas tax, and my new legislation expands this to diesel taxes and aviation fuel. It protects highway funding and ensures corporations pass savings along to consumers.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is one of the most successful programs aimed at reducing energy costs for working families. My LIHEAP Act would expand the program so that more households in need can take advantage of it.

Thank you to End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller for sitting down with me earlier this year to discuss my DISCLOSE Act. Dark money has no place in our elections. My bill will restore transparency in our democracy and make government more accountable to the will of voters.

Today, the DISCLOSE Act, a landmark piece of campaign finance reform legislation, was reintroduced in Congress. I sat down with @repchrispappas.bsky.social to talk more about what this bill could do to shine a light on dark money spending in our elections.

I introduced the Energy Burden Tax Credit Act because no family should ever wonder if they can afford to keep their home warm during the winter months. This legislation creates a new energy tax credit to put money back in people’s pockets.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic violence affects people in every community, and #Every1KnowsSome1 who has been impacted by abuse. I’m fighting to support survivors and deliver our communities increased resources to serve them. #DVAM2026

LIHEAP is a lifeline for many, but the program is woefully underfunded. Adjusting for inflation, if LIHEAP were funded at the same level as it was 45 years ago, the program would have received nearly $7 billion in FY27. I’m leading a bipartisan call to increase funding for this essential program.

Thousands in NH are seeing cuts to their SNAP benefits starting this month–all so that Republicans could give tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations in their so-called Big, Beautiful Bill. This means kids won't get school lunches and working families won't be able to put food on the table.

54 years ago today, the Clean Water Act became law. Everyone deserves clean water, and while we celebrate the progress we’ve made, we must keep holding polluters accountable. I'm fighting to pass my Clean Water Standards for PFAS Act to protect families from PFAS contamination.

Additional LIHEAP funding is urgently needed as winter weather approaches and temperatures drop. No family should not have to choose between staying warm and paying for other essentials like food, medication, or rent. punchbowl.news/article/hous...

With their so-called ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’, Republicans gutted Medicaid and SNAP to give tax giveaways to tech giants building data centers across the country. I’m working to shut off these tax breaks that are being footed by the American people.

People across New Hampshire are facing hard decisions about what they can afford in this cost-of-living crisis, from medications to groceries to energy. I’m working to make sure every Granite Stater that needs home heating assistance to stay safe this winter can get it.

Big corporations are raking in record profits while using surveillance pricing to raise prices for families who are struggling to put food on the table. It’s outrageous. My Lower Grocery Prices Act would ban this practice by corporations to jack up food prices and rip off Granite Staters.

The AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act passed the House last month! AM radio is a lifeline in emergencies, helping Americans get important information and stay safe. I cosponsor this legislation to make sure people don’t lose access to free AM radio in their cars, and I’m glad to see it moving forward.

Electricity prices are up. Natural gas and home heating oil prices are up. Diesel fuel is hitting record highs. Granite Staters don’t need federal data to tell them this: they see it in every electric and gas bill. As we enter the colder months, tackling rising energy costs couldn't be more urgent.

Happy birthday to the U.S. Navy! Our celebration of the nation's 250th birthday this year couldn’t have happened without the formation of the U.S. Navy 251 years ago. Thank you to all the men and women who have protected our seas at home and abroad since.

It's been 28 years since Matthew Shepard was killed in a violent anti-LGBTQ hate crime. I’m fighting to ban the bigoted 'panic' defense used by one of his killers from being used in federal court. I'll always work to protect LGBTQ+ Americans from violence with my colleagues in the Equality Caucus.

Heating oil prices have nearly doubled over the course of Trump’s war with Iran. It’s making it more expensive for Granite Staters to heat their homes. I introduced the American Homes First Act to increase LIHEAP funding by redirecting $1 billion from President Trump’s ‘Board of Peace’ slush fund.

I met with NH small businesses that are hurting because of Congress’s failure to extend the ACA enhanced premium tax credits. They’re worried they won’t be able to keep providing health insurance to their employees. I’m fighting to lower health care costs for families, seniors, and small businesses.

Edgar Austin of Rollinsford courageously served in the U.S. Army during WWII. When his family realized his medals were missing, they reached out to my office for help. We were able to get his Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart returned to his daughter, Beverly Hanson of Barrington.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Early detection of breast cancer through routine screening can mean less extensive treatment, more treatment options, and better outcomes. Talk to your health care provider to learn what’s best for you.

As Granite Staters facing high energy prices, NH Community Action agencies are seeing more people reach out for heating assistance. We must be taking every action to lower costs and provide relief. I'm working to increase federal support for heating assistance & expand eligibility to more families.

I colead the Mental Health Services for Students Act and the Prevent Youth Suicide Act because investments in schools ensure they have the training and resources to connect children in need with mental health support. No one should ever feel alone in this fight. #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek

Fuel assistance is so important to New Hampshire families and seniors as we head into the winter months. I checked in with local Community Action Agency leaders on what they’re seeing on the ground as I fight to get more federal funding for this critical program.

NH households could pay $2,300 for home heating oil this winter–a 31% increase–because of President Trump’s war with Iran. While I continue fighting to stop this war, I’ve also introduced bills to provide immediate relief and lower energy costs, including the Consumer Fuel Prices Relief Act.

James, a veteran from NH, had to come out of retirement because he couldn’t make ends meet. Granite Staters are seeing their energy bills more than double and have spent an extra thousand dollars at the pump and filling their fuel tanks because of President Trump's war. People need relief now.

Trump’s tariffs combined with record-high diesel prices are causing higher grocery prices and an economy Granite Staters cannot afford. End the tariffs. End the war. Make our economy work for the people.
