Community Health Care Clinic and their "Mighty Nine" are helping make doctors, dentists, and mental health services more accessible in McLean County.   Great to meet with their team, learn more about their mission, and discuss how we can work together to make healthcare accessible for everyone.

GOP cuts to SNAP and the high cost of food (because of fuel costs) are making things dire for thousands of people in our district. I am especially thankful to faith leaders in Peoria for sitting down with me to talk about the need.

High School students: there's still time to submit your application for Congressional Nomination to one of our prestigious U.S. Service Academies. It is an honor to be but a small part of this process, helping give #IL17's young people a chance to make their dreams come true. Learn more below!

Today is #NationalComingOutDay, a time to celebrate and embrace our LGBTQ+ friends, neighbors and loved ones. Whether this is your 30th year celebrating, or maybe you're still not ready: know you are seen, heard and loved.

Mike Ditka was Chicago football. Tough, loud and fiercely loyal to this city and this team. He gave this young Bears fan the ‘85 championship and set a standard we’ve been chasing ever since. Rest in peace, Coach. Thinking of his family and all of Bears Nation. 🐻⬇️

🚨Attention IL-17 Students and Parents🚨 Each year, I have the honor and privilege of nominating young people from our district to our prestigious U.S. Service Academies. Are you or someone you know interested in applying? Learn more below! Applications close November 1st.

High costs aren't only hurting our families, they're also squeezing local small businesses like Supermercado Monarca in East Moline. Proud to stand beside Saul and his incredible team to discuss my work to lower costs and provide the relief our neighbors need and deserve.

As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, one of my top priorities is supporting National Guardsmen around the country—to ensure they always have the tools and resources they need to complete their critical missions. Thank you for all you do!

Illinois Central College is one of Peoria’s crown jewels, setting our young people on paths to fulfilling, successful careers right here in Central Illinois. It was a joy to tour their health sciences department & get an update on their incredible work (and get a quick check-up while I was at it!)

Glad to help break ground on Peoria Heights’ new water filtration plant. Clean water is one of those things nobody thinks about until it’s gone, and I’m happy I could help bring federal funding home so this community has safe drinking water for the next 100 years.

Exciting news in Peoria! The AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps is partnering with the Peoria Park District to help restore native habitats, improve park trails, and support local events. Can't wait to see the results!

Awesome to be the first person to use the new EV fast-chargers at the East Moline Public Library. Proud to drive my UAW, American-made Chevy Bolt and it’s so important to bring charging access to everyone, regardless if they have the ability to charge at home.

Attention all weather geeks! I am happy to kick off @eesionline.org’a briefing on Super El Niño today! It's important we learn as much as we can about this seasonal forecast and the possibilities for severe weather. Follow along: www.eesi.org/briefings/vi...

Great to be back in school! Many thanks to Ms. Castro’s 2nd Grade class at Eugene Field Elementary. I got to read a book about the change of seasons and every child promised they would do their homework! I am proud to support the potential of every student, no matter the hometown or zip code.

Team Sorensen was a part of the ribbon cutting for Western Illinois University’s new Goldfarb Center for the Performing Arts. Named for former President Al Goldfarb—whose father was the only member of his family to survive the Holocaust. Now, his name will be a part of WIU forever.

Team Sorensen was glad to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Reagan Mass Transit District facility in Oregon! This development will help strengthen transit services to residents across Ogle, Lee, Whiteside and Winnebago counties. Can't wait to see the finished site.
