Record-breaking diesel prices affect us all. These prices are making the cost of everyday goods rise and are hurting hardworking families in my district. It’s time for the President to end the war in Iran and focus on lowering costs for all Americans.

Thanks to Trump and Republicans in Congress, prices keep going up, making it harder for Alabama families to make ends meet. It’s time for the President to focus on making life more affordable for all Americans instead of prioritizing giving tax breaks to his billionaire donors.

I'm strongly encouraging everyone in the Second District to prepare now for Hurricane Isaias. My office has been in contact with local and federal officials and will continue to monitor the situation and will respond in any way that we can to support those impacted by this storm.

My office is in contact with local, state, and federal officials regarding preparations for Tropical Storm Isaias. This storm poses a serious threat to the safety of residents in the Second District and throughout Alabama.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time for all of us to remember those we’ve lost, honor the survivors, increase awareness about early detection, and support the brave Americans who are currently fighting this disease.

It's always a good conversation when I meet with the students at Tuskegee. I got to hear about the issues that matter most and their ideas about the changes they would like to see in their community. These students are definitely leaders in the making. ❤️💛 (Photos courtesy of Tuskegee University)

Since day one, I’ve been focused on bringing federal investments to the Second District that set the foundation for a strong local economy that benefits workers and business owners, and I look forward to continuing that work.

Today we honor the lives lost 25 years ago to the horrific terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. We are grateful to the brave first responders for their courage and service that day, and the servicemembers who served in Afghanistan and Iraq. We must always remember their sacrifice. #NeverForget

I know that across Alabama, parents are struggling to keep up with the cost of their children’s extracurricular activities, which can cost thousands of dollars each year. To address this issue, I introduced a bill that would give parents a tax break of up to $5,000 a year.

Had a great time at the Petrey Town Hall grand opening this weekend! Small town Alabama has always fueled the state with its hard work and people. We owe it to them to ensure that they are not left behind. I look forward to supporting Petrey and all the small towns of District 2!

Special thanks to our summer interns Karizma and Timaya and our fellows Kayla and Carrington for all you’ve done as part of our team. Your work on behalf of the Second District has been excellent, and I wish each of you the very best in your future careers!

A big thank you to Billy Hixon and his family for having me out to their farm yesterday. Learning more about their farming operations and the legacy of the family business was really special. I’m going to keep doing all that I can in Congress to support our farmers.

Enjoyed giving the Washington Update to the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. We talked about my work to bring federal funding to the area and our shared priorities to strengthen the local economy and support small businesses in our area. (Photo Credits: Montgomery Chamber of Commerce)
