I’m proud that PA is taking action to protect our kids from the harms of smartphones in schools. This bipartisan effort is about giving students their school day back so they can focus on learning, socializing and being kids. Learn more @repsteele.com.

We did it! The #PASenate has passed our bell-to-bell cell phone ban in schools. It was a true bipartisan effort of the legislature, parents, teachers, doctors! Next stop- @governor.pa.gov desk! He’s called for this for a long time, I bet he signs it into law quickly!

Our children deserve schools where they can focus, learn, build friendships and just be kids. We must push back against Big Tech and get smartphones out of schools. It's time to put our children's health and futures first - the #PaHouse passed a bill today to do just that.

This bill is about instilling safe and ethical hunting practices in the next generation of young hunters. As a mother who actively hunts with my children, I understand that responsible hunting techniques are critical when connecting to the outdoors.

Digital distractions are robbing kids of the experiences that make childhood so great. Restricting cellphone usage during school hours makes sense on many levels and I'm hopeful this measure will soon make it to the governor's desk to become law.

I’ll never forget the look on my 10-year-old son’s face when he heard he could learn about conservation and safety in school. I’m so excited to support this bill that connects our kids to the land while teaching them to be responsible and safe outdoors! repsteele.com

Did you know PA is the ONLY state that doesn’t require standardized school counseling? Our kids are at a massive disadvantage, and it’s time to change that. I’m fighting to prioritize our students so they have the guidance they need to succeed. Join me: repsteele.com

School counselors are the ones who put students on their pathway to success. They can't do that if they are constantly "filling the gaps" in the school day and not counseling.

Thanks to the House Education Committee for moving my bill to establish the School Counseling Services Act, to get these professionals back doing what they're meant to be doing.

It has been linked to Parkinson’s disease and childhood leukemia, and research has found that it can harm people both after a single exposure and after repeated, low-level exposures. Even a small amount can be fatal. We must ban paraquat now.

Thanks to my colleagues for supporting my legislation that would protect thousands of acres of our beautiful forests by removing the cap for the Pennsylvania Game Commission land acquisitions.

You know something that I am really proud of? Representing a district split nearly evenly between democrats and republicans. Pennsylvanians want a reasonable path through the middle.

Massive cuts to public broadcasting- what a mistake the Senate has made. As Senator Thom Tillis (R) said, "I suspect we’re going to find out there are some things we’re going to regret".

Too steep, too fast! Our school boards, superintendents, and parents are worried about federal funding for schools being drastically cut this year. This is an area where we really are going to have a difficult time covering big cuts from the federal level.

Woke up so heartbroken over the tragedy in Texas. Watching coverage of the first responders out there working for days reinforced my belief that if a first responder tells me they need money for equipment- I’ll fight for it. No questions asked. They know what they need.

Taking health insurance and food assistance from half a million poor people in PA is cruel. Pennsylvania already leads the nation in rooting out waste. I just don’t see how this move will positively impact us enough to make this cruelty worth it.

Disheartening to watch the United States Senate put billionaires before working families- they voted for the biggest cuts to Medicaid and food assistance in history. Many will suffer.

My gosh- this is actually happening! 50 years of people fighting for this! My Sunday Hunting bill has passed the House and the Senate and is now on the way to Governor Shapiro’s desk to be signed into law! Freedom for our hunters, healthier forests, stronger farms- almost here!
