💡 Did you know? A heart attack and a cardiac arrest are not the same thing. Knowing the difference and how to respond in each situation could save a life. Help us spread awareness and make sure more people know what to do in an emergency. ❤️

Not too familiar with defibs? Let’s get you acquainted! These lifesaving pieces of equipment significantly increase the chance of surviving a cardiac arrest. Here are three quick facts to help you feel more confident if you ever need to step in and use one.

Newborn Life Support course centres can now apply to deliver our Newborn Life Support Recertification (NLSr) course 👶 This brand new course combines flexible online learning with face-to-face practical training to help clinicians refresh essential skills and maintain NLS provider status.

Did you know women are less likely to receive bystander CPR? Everyone deserves an equal chance of surviving a cardiac arrest. That’s why we’ve added breast vests to our CPR training kit, helping training sessions better reflect real-life situations and build confidence performing CPR on women.

Today is International Paramedics Day 🚑 RCUK would like to celebrate and thank paramedics across the UK for their dedication to saving lives. Your expertise, quick thinking, and teamwork make a vital difference when it matters most. We’re grateful for all that you do 🫶

Thousands of babies are born outside hospital each year. For clinicians, newborn resuscitation in these settings is rare but critical. Our Out‑of‑Hospital Newborn Life Support course will help you build confidence to deliver the best care when it matters most: resus.org.uk/oh-nls

Sadly, research shows that people living in lower socio-economic areas are less likely to have access to a defibrillator. So it’s vital that when there are defibs in these areas they're rescue-ready and registered on The Circuit.

A defibrillator could save a life, but it has to be working. We’ve developed a practical checklist to support Guardians in carrying out routine checks and ensuring their devices are fully operational and accessible. Download the checklist today: bit.ly/43qxw8U

Cardiac arrests don’t just happen in hospitals. Our new Out‑of‑Hospital Advanced Life Support (OH‑ALS) course has been developed to help prepare clinicians to manage cardiac arrest in pre‑hospital settings. Our Clinical Lead, Naomi, explains more.

Yesterday, we delivered a Basic Life Support training session for the Senior Leadership Team at Bauer Media Outdoor. It was excellent to see such strong engagement and commitment to building lifesaving capability across the organisation!

Quick access to a defibrillator can be lifesaving in a cardiac arrest. Yet nearly half of people don’t know where the nearest AED is at their local sports venue. Help your sports club prepare for a cardiac arrest by making sure members are aware of where the nearest defib is located.

Thank you for meeting with us @stevedarlingmp.bsky.social and for championing our lifesaving message ❤️
