Guess how may hours of gameplay takes to test a game... This is the total time I've tested Retro Gadgets on steam. Probably it's maximum the 20% of the total testing time, editor included. Anyway.. a fast and small gadget build in the sandbox mode!

Here is how we create the code puzzles from inside the game. It's editing a gadget, plus a special feature that lets us some code comments, interpreted by the game as instructions. #indiegames #gadgets

How things are done: every single piece of the story is made inside Retro Gadgets. So each gadget coded by us inside the game. Here one of my favourite. Once you have completed the mission you can open the gadget in the sandbox mode, and reverse engineer it! #indiegame #sandbox

Hey! Just a few words about how we decided to manage the story/tutorial and the diegetic interface. Frankly, we initially thought it would have been easier to do. But yes, you have to convey a lot of information, step by step, without feeling "magical" #indiegames #gamedev #sandbox

The core idea is to use a chat-like interface for dialogues. It fits into our "multitool" screen and it's familiar to use. Then our "mini-projector" can draw interactive information onto the mat, without being "magical". Then, some old school paper magazine/document for manuals and tech guides.

Ok, I'm here to talk a bit about my game, Retro Gadgets. For those who haven't see it, it's a pixel art sandbox game about building and programming electronic gadgets. Here the upcoming menu of the game. Why can it be interesting? It's a gadget itself. Totally made inside the game. #indiegamedev
