I spent literally all day working on this, from when I woke up, to now with only an hour break for the gym and a 10 minute break for lunch. I feel like I'm dying but he came out pretty good. Maneki-neko Pumpkin for Halloween

Y'know, I think I get it now. Sometimes you just have to block people for their own good. And your own good because good lord, some people just exist to argue on social media

I have now determined that for my chili recipe, the correct amount of beans is somewhere between 2 15oz cans and 1 20oz bag of dried beans. Somewhere in-between those is a sweet spot

I am wondering if I need to play a sacrificial game before I olay Fortune's Weave. I just wrapped up Baldur's Gate 3 and I'm worried I'm going to be so biased to that games writing that FW is going to disappoint me. I made this mistake once before playing The Golden Rule right after Disco Elysium

At my work IT pushed out some update that broke everything. It's been a full workweek and after a ton of scrambling things are still broken. Got my suspicions confirmed this morning. It was AI slop code. They just ran some shit and broke everything company wide. Incredible.

It's 2026. 3 years ago my friends all gushed about Baldur's Gate 3. My friend bought it for me for Christmas last year. I started playing it in June. My save file has 136 hours on it. As of today I am the first person in my entire friend group to beat the game.

I don't care if people smoke weed, like you do you, whatever. I do care if they smoke week in apartment common areas, balconies or right by the apartment building, because I'd like to be able to open my god damn windows and enjoy outside air without that shit flooding into my apartment.

Finally watched Takopi's Original Sin. Gonna be a little controversial. It was grossly overhyped. I can see this being very challenging if you're sensitive to depictions of suicide (but really only the first episode) or if this is your first piece of media where bad things happen to children.

Spoiler for the ending: There's an admittedly uncharitable take away, but nonetheless one that CAN be taken away, that suicide is just the answer. All of the character's problems are effectively solved by a character choosing to kill themselves.

That's obviously not the intended point of what's happening, but it is what happened. A character kills themselves and that magically sends impulses through everyone's minds that they were right all along and you just need to talk out your problems. ...not a great ending 5o pair with the openning

But... honestly it's pretty shallow, there's no real greater statement about society, or people, or even the characters. It set up a really strong opening and just kind of squandered that potential with "hey look at this abusive situation...anyways" The ending was also pretty egregious.

Straight up not even close. Not sure how this has pinned down everyone else so well but I've been to Nevada twice in my life. No family out there, or California. Technically lived in Arizona for the first 3 years of my life, but it's been central midwest since then.

"You talk like someone from California." Nailed it. I left California in my teens, but linguistically it marks me forever.

Finally finished Chainsaw Man. Really wanted to go into the ending a while after the controversy, especially when I could read it all at once. I get it. I get why people hate it. It feels unsatisfying, and... bittersweet but mostly bitter with very very little sweet.

I wont say the ending sucks, but it is underdeveloped. I think it really just needed one more chapter at minimum. It still would have been unsatisfying, but it wouldn't have been as jarring and sudden.

Got into Warhammer (big mistake, but I love it) Did...okay on my first salamander, given my tools. Cheap craft paints, really cheap bad brushes, it looks as good as it could. Second salamander came out great and I even did pretty good freehand on the emblem.

...I fucking hate painting battle sisters. I love the faction, they're awesome, I love building their models, but the amount of white and flesh tone I have to paint makes me want to punch my own ticket. Painting white is so hard and Im doing a disservice to these women by doing it badly.

Finally tried installing and using Linux, Ubuntu, and I was fully prepared to eat crow and admit that it is easy and just as functional as windows. Unfortunately I was correct and Linux is still a huge pain in the ass that is only really usable by coders. No crow will be eaten today.

The amount of guides that start off fine but then will just glance over something like "open this program with protontricks", without explaining HOW to do that (because it's not like windows, you can't just right click and open with, you have to go into the terminal

and input code to even get that functionality, and even then it still doesn't work sometimes and you have to use different code to get a gui to actually navigate anything)... it's infuriating. 4 hours and 2 people troubleshooting to try an open 1 program. To open a program...

The sad thing is that it's almost there, it's close, but there's just so many points where I need to open the terminal and input some arbitrary code to get basic functionality. And my god, you Linux peoplr SUCK at giving direction. You're much better at writing code than you are writing guides

I'm really curious if there's actually an anime/manga that has the premise "person exists in a world where everyone can use magic but they cant use magic" that actually sticks to it. I've been burned 3 times with Black Clover, Mashel and Wand & Wistoria.

I'd really like to see this premise where the mc doesnt just get magic partway through. The closest thing I can think of is like...Berserk, but not everyone can use magic, that's not the central premise, and Guts gets basically magic armor, so...not quite there

A fun part about getting older is experiencing an internal pain you've never felt before in your life, and worrying that it might be cancer. The Internet really does just say any symptom for any ailment could be from cancer.
