In the run-up to this year’s midterm elections, one of the defining campaign issues is the elections themselves. Listen to this special episode of Reveal about the ongoing fight over who gets to vote in America.
“If that’s my right fundamentally, why are you taking my right away from me?” @blackvotersmatterfund.org co-founder LaTosha Brown talks about her work to expand voting rights in the South and push back against voter suppression efforts. Listen to our latest:
@hcrichardson.bsky.social’s millions of loyal readers look to her for sanity and democratic reassurance through her newsletter, “Letters from an American.” But that doesn’t mean the historian herself isn’t worried about where America’s heading:
As midterms approach, historian @hcrichardson.bsky.social lays out a game plan for Democrats if they regain Congress. “We need to start holding people accountable, not even on day one, on minute one.” More on this week's More To The Story: apple.co/47yU0qh
For decades, Black voters have sued their states to draw voting districts with racial equity in mind. But this past spring, the Supreme Court took a majority-Black district in Louisiana and gutted the section of the 1965 Voting Rights Act that created it.
Hundreds of thousands of voters will be heading to the polls in two weeks in newly redrawn, majority-white, majority-Republican districts. This week on Reveal, we look at the Supreme Court decision that made that happen.
“There are people who are openly white supremacists who are consolidating power at record speed...If that don’t move you, it ain’t nothing that I can say that can move you.” LaTosha Brown from the @blackvotersmatterfund.org joins us on this week's More To The Story:

America’s relationship with Israel is becoming an electoral fault line, dividing both parties and major Jewish political groups. Reporter Najib Aminy follows the new fault lines and asks: As the old political consensus is tested, who gets to shape what replaces it?
Something is shifting among American voters and Israel. On this week’s Reveal, we explore how America’s relationship with one of its closest allies became a political fault line that’s increasingly showing up at the ballot box:
For decades, Republicans’ unwavering support for Israel was the norm. Curt Mills of The American Conservative says that’s changing. Younger conservatives are questioning military aid, foreign intervention, and the meaning of “America First.”
@jeremybenami.bsky.social and @bethavedon.bsky.social both believe the politics around Israel are shifting. But they have very different ideas about where they’re headed. We ask the leaders of J Street and Jewish Voice for Peace where they draw the new lines.
Our latest episode tackles Israel's shifting role in US politics heading into the midterms. We think you'll find it enlightening.

Something is shifting among American voters and Israel. Democrats who protested their own party over Gaza are now running for office, openly challenging AIPAC’s influence. This week on Reveal, we ask: If the old consensus around Israel is breaking, what comes next?
JD Vance recently said during a Florida rally, "When Angie Nixon calls herself a socialist, I think the right response is to say, 'Then get the hell out of here." Nixon's response to similar comments: "They are afraid that I am breaking through, and so they want to demonize me."
The botched execution of Christa Pike supports what Rev. Jeff Hood, spiritual advisor to the condemned, told us last year: This country's use of capital punishment shows that we, as a society, "have moved in a more violent direction."
During her time as a state representative, Angie Nixon has been "the biggest thorn in Ron DeSantis’ side." Now, she's hoping to prove that the deep-red state of Florida is ready for a democratic socialist senator. This week on More To The Story:
Can a democratic socialist win in deep-red Florida? @angieforfl.bsky.social thinks so. The candidate for US Senate joins us this week to talk about her grassroots campaign for Congress and how the DSA is reshaping the midterms.
