Fun day at the UNSW MWAC Elemental analysis workshop learning (and talking) about EDX, EELS, XAF, XRF, ICP and a whole lot more!

I've definitely been guilty of a bit of vegetative electron microscopy, those late night elemental maps on an old LaB6 'scope definitely warranted a few naps between drift correction stage bumps. Not sure if I'd brag about them in the method section though. retractionwatch.com/2025/02/10/v...

My favourite view of the microscope πŸ”¬, with it's pants off!! This is a JEOL F200 transmission electron microscope (TEM) and under the table you can see the CMOS camera made by Gatan which we use for imaging and 4D STEM!

I have just realised that the nursery rhyme about 5 little pigs that went to market is more about making sausages than it is about having little adventures.

Getting ready for baby, I'm using my #raspberrypi pico w as a #micropython nursery monitor with air quality and tog recommendations for the Australian summer!
