Making good progress on this. Beard is now visible if I look down. Keeps catching my eye.

Watching #celebritytraitors and think Michael Sheen has inspired me to grow a beard and let the hair grow a bit. Never kept facial hair for long, which is a shame as I can grow a great beard. Think I’ve got similar amounts of grey as well.

Tell you what I did think of and am convinced would be a balm for these troubled times: a Muppets x Ghosts film, perhaps with the Muppets coming to put on a show in the UK and running into the Ghosts team at Button House Hotel.

Been buying rather than streaming music for almost two years now. Mostly eBay and charity shop CDs to rip and pass on, Bandcamp and other digital purchases where needed. Tomorrow may be the first time I walk into a shop to buy a new CD - can't see a better way to get Raye's My 21st Century Blues.

First James Bond film I have clear memories of is Moonraker - loved the space bits. That would have been on telly when I was five or six. I have a vague recollection of the woman being painted gold in Man With The Golden Gun though. Anyway, that concludes my application to be the next James Bond.

Been reading Moby Dick and honestly, makes it hard to get excited about sitting down at a desk to go tippy-tap on a keyboard all day. Where's my harpoon? My crew? Or my round watery world to swim in?

We now have a conjunction of olive oil, coffee, laundry pods and spreadable butter. There is wailing. Garments rend themselves. The trolley total pulls itself ever upwards.

Need to buy olive oil and coffee beans in the same shop and financially I’m not sure we’ll come back from this.

Was in an Oxfam bookshop yesterday and a guy comes in apparently trying to buy a copy of Life of Pi without saying the words 'life' or 'pi'. Wanted the book by Yann Martel. The one that's an allegory. It's on a boat. With animals. Guy behind the counter was clueless.

Thinking of trying to play Baldur's Gate 3 again, but this time I'll just roleplay as... me. I will be entirely out of my depth. I will try to weasel my way out of combat, and if combat cannot be avoided I will let others fight and stand at the back, "helping". I will help nobody except myself.

This also justifies getting through the game as quickly as possible, rather than getting bogged down in completionism. "Oh, a rumour of treasure in that cave, perhaps guarded by a bizarre monster? Thanks for the warning, I'm just trying to get to whatever passes for a neurologist round here."

Loved that. Having read reviews, I can see the point of a lot of the criticisms on fidelity to the book/film, but... I don't know, I think I prefer to take adaptations on their own terms. I'd say this is the best of the "missed opportunity" takes

I used to think this, but finding traitors signals faithfulness and avoids banishment?

one year the participants in Traitors will finally realise there’s literally no point in finding traitors for the first dozen rounds because they just get replaced anyway

Saw this, thought “who the hell is David Benedictus?” and went down a rabbit hole. Then I got stuck in a rabbit hole as I had eaten too much honey. Was completely unaware of the authorised follow-ups.

100 years ago, the beloved children's book Winnie-the-Pooh created by English author A A Milne was published. It was not until 1987 that a German translation appeared which truly did justice to Milne’s work: the version translated by Harry Rowohlt. Happy birthday, Pu der Bär!
