Ossoff: Did anyone really think the sexual predator president who used to party with Jeffrey Epstein was going to release the Epstein files?

Paramount just paid Trump a bribe for merger approval. When Democrats retake power, I’ll be first in line calling for federal charges. In the meantime, state prosecutors should make the corporate execs who sold out our democracy answer in court, today.

Paramount agrees to pay Trump $16 million, clearing way for multibillion-dollar merger

The US senate just declared war on the American public. A bill that destroys Medicaid while cutting taxes for the wealthiest at a time when we already have record income and wealth inequality is societal suicide.

🚨🚨 US TRADE DEFICIT SURGES The Commerce Department's Census Bureau on Thursday reported that the international trade in goods increased by about 11 percent in May as exports decreased while imports remained relatively unchanged — a sign that Trump's tariff strategy has been a colossal failure.

James: His critics said that he should wait his turn. His critics said that he did not have the experience. His critics said they did not have the right name. Well, now all of them know his god damn name.

This moron would have stopped the civil rights movement dead in its tracks in the 60s

Thomas Chatterton Williams@chatterton.bsky.social

I don’t care if you’re razing Kenosha, storming the Capitol, or doing whatever this is in LA, no democracy can function when every group and identity block decides it has the right and moral authority to take its specific political disagreements into the streets.

We just got to be nicer to Trump like ABC maybe then maybe he'll start respecting the Constitution

Tom Nichols@radiofreetom.bsky.social

People did not wave Irish flags during sweeps of Irish illegal immigrants in Boston. Those sweeps happened for years and no one even knows about them. When you’re trying to face down a president who is accusing you of a lack of patriotism, this is just stupid.

This is also the moron that a few months ago started writing off habeas corpus saying Dems are falling into a "trap". I used to like him but the guy has been captured by ambition and polling and lacks spine in any meaningful way. Don't be surprised when Gallego and slotkin just end up

Chris Geidner@chrisgeidner.bsky.social

In addition to this being appalling from Sen. Gallego, the fact that the senior editor at The Dispatch frames it as coming from a "rising star" Dem and in opposition to "progressives" — as opposed to in opposition to virtually every elected Dem except Suozzi, Moulton, and Newsom — is trash.

Until they can guarantee they won't be scooped up the judges should require these cases be done remotely. Mind you these are people who are following the law/process.

This is the problem I don't think there's a solution for. You know Alito and Thomas were frothing at the mouth trying to get them to take this case and they hide behind free speech. The reality is like today's GOP these freaks have no principles other than how can I continue to...

Chris Geidner@chrisgeidner.bsky.social

Alito, joined by Thomas, dissents over the court not agreeing to hear a case over a boy told he couldn't wear a "There Are Only Two Genders" shirt to class. [corrected] First Circuit held the school could do so because of the disruption the demeaning message would reasonably be expected to cause.

If we stop calling these “grants” and start calling them “contracts,” it’s clearer to people why this is such an abuse of power. This wasn’t a bunch of gifts. This was a bunch of binding contracts between researchers and the US govt for specific agreed upon projects.

Randy fine should keep his mouth shut and not eat as much.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Rep. Randy Fine: "We should not be bringing people into America to get an education who hate us. They should be coming here to get an education, and frankly they should keep their mouths shut beyond that."

Schumer vow to restore it stating the following. "we must preserve and restore the legacy of the GOP giving the Dems the purple nurple and wet willies by refusing to rise to the occasion furthermore I'll be appointing fetterman to the role vacated by manchin and slotkin in the role vacated by sinema

Senate Republicans are set to go nuclear today, blowing up the filibuster to repeal California’s vehicle emissions standards—after spending YEARS promising to preserve the filibuster once they retook the chamber. slate.com/news-and-pol...

But Biden

Joyce White Vance@joycewhitevance.bsky.social

See you at 1 AM, yes, you read that right, when Republicans take up the spending bill, which includes a provision that would restrict courts from holding gov’t officials in contempt for violating court orders—possibly explaining the subterfuge. www.justsecurity.org/113529/terri...

I'm so glad we're finally holding presidents accountable. Wait what... This isn't about trump? Who the fuck cares holy shit

The New Republic@newrepublic.com

The fact that the cancer spread to the bone indicates it has been in Biden “for a very long time.” Either Biden’s medical evaluations weren’t as thorough as they could have been, or the former president kept this information hidden from the public.

Look at this dork still mad about the ending to the sopranos.

Sawyer Hackett@sawyerhackett.bsky.social

Democrats destroyed our credibility by propping up Joe Biden—and we won’t fix that by burying our heads in the sand…again. And I don’t give a shit if you don’t think it’s helpful.

This is the frustrating thing about independent journalism. I understand they have bills to pay and need to make a villain but pay walling a serious story only guarantees that only terminally online politicos will read the story. This you're never gonna break through echo chambers.

Jon Passantino@passantino.bsky.social

A Business Insider story comparing Don Jr’s ethically dubious work to Hunter Biden prompted extraordinary backlash from the White House, accusing its parentco of engaging in a foreign influence operation. More in @status.news www.status.news/p/trump-jr-h...

I don't have an answer to this other than saying this isn't working. Personally I'm willing to sit through a 2 min add to unlock this or other things but the average person isn't gonna have the disposable income to afford a ton of subscriptions to multiple substacks etc

The GOP has a stranglehold on all branches of government. Do you think they have these conversations on how to save vulnerable Republicans like Lawler or are they saying clock is ticking let's burn this place down before we lose power?

Josh Chafetz@joshchafetz.bsky.social

Yeah, folks, if you want to push out centrist Dems, then focus on centrist Dems in districts that are D+5 or more. Folks like Golden (and, until this year, Manchin) are among the *most* valuable Dems.

Golden and slotkin and the like are useful when you have a majority when you're in the minority they're an albatross that's tied around our collective necks. This is the same people that also try to tell us when they go low we go high. I always thought that was bullshit and we're seeing this shit..

Ah tapper tapping into the the Twitter files grift. To sell books to the rubes that go to cpac

Justin Baragona@justinbaragona.bsky.social

Jake Tapper responds to conservatives who have bashed him as a "hypocrite" for his new book about Biden's decline: “I think some of the criticism is fair, to be honest... I did cover some of these issues, but not enough. I look back on it with humility." www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

This is on Chuck Schumer. This is chucks big beautiful Bill

The New Republic@newrepublic.com

The GOP’s “big beautiful bill” includes a clause giving Donald Trump the ability to revoke the tax-exempt status of any group the Treasury Department says is a terrorism supporter. The bill is in the reconciliation process, meaning it only requires a simple majority in the House and Senate to pass.

I'm starting to understand now why Matt is the most blocked person on Bluesky

Michael Hobbes@michaelhobbes.bsky.social

No Matt is right: When your country is descending into fascism, the most important role for journalists is to constantly police the tone and messaging of opposition movements.

I know trump is a bad guy but maybe if the public is mad enough they will change they're mind and not do it 🤡. This is who the DNC is propping up and they want to get rid of David hogg. .

Schumer on Qatar gifting Trump a luxury plane: "The more sunlight that's brought to this issue -- they didn't want to make it public -- the greater the public outcry there will be, and hopefully that will persuade this administration to not do this."

John Roberts described the rule of law as “endangered” and warned against “trashing the justices,” but "he didn’t point fingers directly at President Donald Trump or his allies for publicly excoriating judges who’ve ruled against aspects of Trump’s agenda." <insert man in hot dog bun gif> 🙄

I'm signing an executive order to eliminate double dipping of chips along with requiring them to be 70% cheaper thank you for your attention on this matter.

I do hope the business community takes note of the fact that while Trump is wrecking their supply chain with tariffs, he thinks he’s free import a foreign jet for free. Buy American? Lolz He’s grounding Air Force One for his Qatari air palace. It’s all revolting autocratic corruption.
