thinking on games that shaped me thing it's mostly computer games. I played rct2 so much I thought Id work at cedar point when I grew up. I still reference the stupid voices from stronghold. d2 lod was actually a problem until someone scammed me out of a pshako and I cried and never played again.

Dread a few hours in impressions: cons: -the music is kinda bad -i don't particularly enjoy the EMMI sections because they're often UNAVOIDABLY IN THE WAY I NEED TO GO and can't do the QTE well. -Some of the color choices for environments are a bit overly dreary imo, like we're back in 2007

pros: -controls like butter -gameplay is generally satisfying, fun exploration and combat -i actually don't mind the parry system -good designs, samus is cool. -so far good balance of challenge and forgiving I've played games like SOTN and silksong, but never any metroid games. good so far

abiding consentless data theft and the collective lowering of education and consumer standards, higher prices and utility expenses, promises of mass job displacement and unregulated environmental impact in exchange for "being more productive" doesn't make you savvy, it just means you're a mark.

like if you claim to be a tech minded person you should be demanding transparency and accountability from these AI companies. Waving these problems off as irrelevant doesn't fix anything - you're just either too stubborn or dense to acknowledge obvious issues. it speaks to your (lack of) principles.

Being convinced by the endless promise of AGI "being right around the corner and solving everything" is such an obvious grift. Elon has been using this same strategy with promises of full self driving tech for over 10 years now. Are you really that desperate to "be more productive"??

not usually a fan of competitive games these days because often it's so meta heavy but duskbloods looks like a fun mishmash of bullshit that encourages being as silly as possible to counter the sweats. that's my kinda gameplay right there.
