A personal word about Archbishop Grob: Having worked in the Archdiocese of Chicago for nearly 30 years, I know +Jeff Grob. He was a renowned pastor, judicial vicar, and Auxiliary Bishop to Cardinal Cupich.

He is one of the most kind, humble, and sincere individuals I have known. This political environment is toxic and he found himself in a really bad situation. I accept his heartfelt apology, and am hopeful others will too.

Milwaukee’s Archbishop Grob: “I feel a heavy sadness, not only over the pain I caused, but also for the fact that something so sacred to a group of religious leaders, prayer to our Heavenly Father, would be manipulated in that way.”

“We should never have been put in that position by the White House. I did not go without reservations. I wish I had heeded them. Please know that I have heard these concerns, understand how I caused them, and I apologize for any damage my actions have done.”

Milwaukee’s Archbishop Grob: “I feel a heavy sadness, not only over the pain I caused, but also for the fact that something so sacred to a group of religious leaders, prayer to our Heavenly Father, would be manipulated in that way.”

“We came in good faith to try to work for the betterment of our fellow human beings, to ease their suffering, to build up the common good, and to pray with a president not to pose for a political photo opportunity to benefit the few. We should never have been put in that position by the White House”

Pope Leo: “Without love, our faith would be deprived of its essence, our good works would be reduced to mere moralism, and our hope would be in vain. Dear friends, we cannot truly love God unless this love overflows into love for our brothers and sisters.” www.vatican.va/content/leo-...

‪Archbishop Golka: “I’m heartbroken that people are hurt, and that there are people intentionally using this moment to sow disunity. That’s not a fruit of the Spirit. As Christians, we’re called to look beyond the headlines, which are often crafted to provoke, towards the full truth.” ‬

New tonight regarding bishops meeting with Trump in Oval: USCCB spokesman says: “This was not something that the USCCB organized. It is not affiliated with the Conference. I have no further information.” New report suggests Heritage Foundation (author of Project 2025) organized today’s meeting.

“This is clearly an attempt to hijack the message coming from the leaders of the USCCB and from the senior bishops in the conference who sent messages saying we shouldn't look partisan and we should not send messages that politicize inappropriately our position.” www.ncronline.org/news/ahead-e...

Essential to this commitment is the rejection of all forms of religious and ethnic hatred and discrimination.”

VATICAN: “Today, the final histological examinations and the molecular biology investigations on the material removed during the surgical intervention on the Holy Father have been reported.”

“The results have confirmed that it was a pulmonary adenocarcinoma and that the disease was localized. A subsequent oncological evaluation has confirmed that no further therapy is necessary.”

Pope Leo at first General Audience after cancer surgery: “The first thing I want to say to you is thank you! Thank you for the support of your prayers. Thanks be to God for his generosity. Let us all renew our trust in God’s goodness and. mercy.”

It is beyond me how anyone, let alone a Catholic, can in good conscience continue to support Trump. His racist, vile and disgusting remarks are far removed from what a Christian is called to be. There are no more excuses that can be made to espouse such behavior.

Pope Leo at Angelus: “Dear friends, this is precisely what it means to ‘give to the emperor the things that are the emperor’s, and to God the things that are God’s:’ to be truthful, free from servile fear or hypocrisy, free to do good.” www.vatican.va/content/leo-...
