I was so fond of 'You Can See Everything' that I wrote a full letterboxd critique, but my computer died and I lost it and Im not going back.

we did our first dance to 'Rocking Back Inside My Heart' (Julee Cruise) immediately into 'Surfing Bird' (Trashmen) and it worked because the art girls flooded the dancefloor so it wasnt just us up there looking dumb like Papa Ooh Mau Mau

the cake lady did a fantastic job recreating the cake Annie drew for our invitations. I molded and fired the cake-toppers and Annie painted them

we went about half-DIY vs half-paid; but I am super proud of the DIY stuff my wife my dudes and I currated (DJ, sound, photography, invitations, most decorations) and I dont feel like any pro$ could have done it better!!

I really want to do a EBM/Industrial DJ set but I wrote to two bars (at which I have connections) and got no response. built the dark mp3 (including alternative crossovers) collection up really nice this Oct so hit me up

I grabbed a nice trading-card commemorating my local library branch (Ridgewood NY) and its really setting off my 10yo brain and I now want to go to every Queens library (67 of them) and get the whole set

gonna be tough to beat the Ridgewood card though w the architectural facade and the gold-foil emboss on hot pink background

sometimes I may find the journeys of arctic/mountain/space explorers interesting, but make no mistake I am always rooting for their failure

sometimes when AI starts writing for you and u didnt ask it to, it actually slows u down alot because it takes time to rewrite and figure out how to not sound like AI. like theres only so many ways to say simple things and it just took the main/easy option away from you

its like youre on Family Feud and they are faster on the buzzer and usually get the 1st answer so u have to try to think of the 2nd or 3rd answer

back in the day it felt like the only hiphop a white kid could like was WuTang and Gangstarr. So now there's tons of 90s artists Im just hearing with a nice blend of smart raps and street raps

once I did get into hiphop around 2000 I immediately went to gangster shit and wierd shit, bypassing alot of nice lyrical hiphop. Food For Animals was born from this agro era

I must admit the few times ive checked twitter it doesnt seem particularly racist or evil but i mostly keep to my lil corner and dont follow/look at racist evil shit

and now today that is my mantra or at least has me thinking about how much time i spend trying/failing to be 'good' (music/art) and how that is likely misguided. give less fucks like Neil Young 1987

my haters may point out that I am indeed bad at music but I dont think I would ever release anything as purposefully bad as this song so thats whats up

I got kinda into throwing barely-provacative comments up on youtube videos (eg: Just Blaze is SO much better than Kanye) and I dont regret it but sometimes years later I want to send a song to someone and that comment is just chilling waiting

I thought it was corny but Ive had hope ever since his song was on in a big thrift store Baltimore 2012 and every customer was humming it like fuck the haters im here i need some clothes

Me in 2050: …and that’s how Macklemore became a civil rights icon. My son, Dale Jr.: Wow his music must’ve been incredible. Me: Dale Jr.: Like so many good songs. Me: Dale Jr.: Was he the A Change Is Gonna Come Guy? Me: Dale Jr.: Me:

Sometimes it feels a little silly to be like '1999 music = good, 2000 music = bad' but also one year does matter alot especially when a major technological shift (accessibility to computers) is looming

Industrial Music is inherently packed full of something like cringe but its not easy to pick the standout ugly pop gems. Revolting Cocks cover of "If You Want My Body And You Think Im Sexy" a good staring point.

Cats are all elusive & indepedent until u make a scratching sound with your fingernails and then theyre like 'oh you didnt tell me you were into scratching things! we should hang out!"

I cant figure out why I downloaded Dolly Parton's "Two Doors Down" a month ago (well before she she passed). I assume I intened to sample the intro or crib the chords from it but odd choice, odd song

Ive lost the plot these last few weeks and (midi) programmed prog/fusion, dc gogo, industrial metal. i know whenever im doing one-off genre exercises theyre pretty much useless: even if its cranking, what am I going to do with ONE gogo song?

Jolene is always funny to me. I always imagine Jolene is Dolly's homely BFF: "Ohh Jolene dont listen to those jerks, I think youre sooooo pretty. Please dont take my man" Yeah Right ain nobody taking your man, youre Dolly Parton
