I really wish our weather would stabilize here. With the cold/hot back and forth, plus the crazy pressure systems, I hurt from my head to my toes. Just pick a temp already! ๐Ÿคฃ

Today has been challenging at work. Left my computer glasses yesterday to get new lenses, so I'm working on the computer with my normal bifocals for 10 days or so. Whooo boy this is gonna give me a headache. ๐Ÿค“

Went for an eye exam this afternoon and the bus ride home was interesting after having my eyes dilated. The lights were all so pretty in the fog! ๐Ÿ˜ I'm sure people on the bus thought I was high. ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's 81 already at my apartment in the Richmond District of SF. I hope the people at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass over in GG Park are prepared for this heat. My knees are not loving the temps so I'm currently icing them.

Love voting here in California. Got a text and email that my ballot was sent, and since I have USPS Informed Delivery, I can see it will deliver today.

Nothing quite like getting your benefits open enrollment done on the first day. I always forget and then have to scramble to complete it. This year: DONE.

I wasn't sure I would watch Survivor this season, so recorded Wednesday's opener. Five minutes in I see someone I know for only the 2nd time ever. I will definitely be watching this season to support my friend!

I'm 2 weeks into a 4 week "adjustment" period after getting durolane injections in both knees. Things are moving better, but I have lots of pain at the injection sites. And I know now to take a couple days off when I get those shots again in 6 months. The first week was hell!

I watched The Out of Towners for the first time last night. How have I never seen this? George (Jack Lemmon at his neurotic best) and Gwen (Sandy Dennis) fly to NY for his job interview. Despite his meticulous planning, everything that could go wrong, does. A gem from 1970.

Have the day off and just finished an intense medical appointment, so I'm rewarding myself with a veggie Hawaian burger and garlic fries from Joe's Ice Cream. Garlic fries make things alright, right?

I was supposed to get a new kind of shot in my knees today, but that didn't happen. Someone forgot to order the durolane, which isn't kept in stock. Good thing I answered the phone before I got all the way to the ortho clinic. Now back at work. ๐Ÿ™„

Have the day off so am doing laundry. Since my knees are on their last legs (๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ) I got a cab through the Flywheel app. Luckily one of my regular cabdrivers was literally a block away so it only took a few minutes to get here.

I hope House of the Dragon and Patience really entertain me tonight because I have been alone with ALL my thoughts all weekend. Between that and the heat, I am worn out to start this week. Couldn't even get any laundry done. Just don't know how to keep going these days.

It might only be 62 degrees in my neighborhood, but with humidity near 95% it is miserable in this laundromat. I'm gonna need a shower when I get home from doing laundry. I am sweating like a...well you can finish that as you like. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Didn't get a damned thing accomplished this weekend (I did catch the last 40 minutes of the World Cup, though). I have so much to do and zero motivation to do anything and I am just EXHAUSTED all the time. I need resolution with my living situation soon...

Okay, one more last-ditch apartment viewing tomorrow. It keeps popping up so not sure what's wrong with it (other than the Tenderloin location!), but I'll take a look at it. It's actually in an area I've been targeting already. Fingers crossed.

Since I haven't been able to land a new apartment yet, there's a good chance I will be homeless after 15 August. I'm hoping that doesn't happen, but I'm starting to plan for the worst. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

I've done my part for America's 250th: I had a hotdog for lunch. ๐Ÿคฃ Now to ice my knees because they are killing me and I really need to clean my apartment today. Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate!

So frustrating. I found several apartments in a building I like, sent emails and texts for each one, and had zero response. And now one of those same units is back on Craigslist 3 weeks later. I just want to get in to see them, you know? I just don't get this market any more.

I give up! Looking for a new apt has been so frustrating these past few months. Things are getting rented 5 minutes after a listing is posted. It's just ridiculous. I'll be over here crawling up and down the stairs at my current place for the rest of my life, apparently.

My knees are killing me after a long (short) work week, so I'm relaxing at home about to watch two of my favorite disaster movies: Earthquake and The Towering Inferno. I recorded them on TCM the other day. Laundry can wait until tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's a good thing I have a 3-day weekend next week because I have been useless this weekend. I am so stressed from looking for an apartment and worrying about other things, and have zero motivation to do much. Hope I can at least get a lot of laundry done while I'm off.

My weekend is off to a great start. Coming back from running errands, I fell up the last two steps to my floor, again. Currently icing my left knee. Really need to find a building with an elevator.

Well, my hand has been aching since I smacked it on something Friday evening, so I'm getting X-rays Tuesday morning on the way to work. It bruised up pretty good but the swelling has been minimal. Hopefully there are no fractures.

Well, my 3-day weekend is off to a roaring start. While waiting for a bus home I got hit in the chin by a piece of gravel (I assume from the work over on 19th Avenue) and then smashed my hand when I got on the bush. No blood or significant damage luckily.

Okay, the fog has come in with a vengeance this evening. We had 80+ temps Monday and Tuesday, and then a decent day yesterday and today. My knees are freaking out with this weather.

Just finished a round of laundry, so I have clean boxers and socks for a few weeks. No, I wasn't wearing dirty ones! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Next week I'll try t-shirts and sheets, if my knees hold out. I lead such an exciting life, don't I?

I turned 62 today and I'm really struggling. My Mom died on my birthday 11 years ago and some years the grief just overwhelms me. This year it's compounded by the stress of my mobility issues and trying to find an accessible apartment. I put on my facade and just exist each day.

Got my shots this morning (from the ortho sports med doc again) and we tried a different entry point. Lets just say I have a little pain from the shots. ๐Ÿ˜‚ She did mention that I can try the hyaluranic gel next time if the steroids are losing effectiveness. Thoughts?

I'm finally getting shots in my knees tomorrow morning (never had them in the morning) and then have to work all day. The past few days I have barely done anything because of the pain and limited range of motion I have right now. Stairs are now my mortal enemy. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Since my Market Street Railway ball cap is on it's last legs after 12 years of service, I just ordered a new SFGiants cap as my birthday present to myself. Can't wait to see how it fits!

Stayed home today with blurry vision and vertigo, which had been building all weekend. My doc thinks I am stressing myself too much. My reply to him was a version of "well, duh, I know that" and he laughed. He knows my life so well. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The shots in my knees I was supposed to get next Tueday got rescheduled to the following Monday. I am going to be c-r-a-n-k-y by that time. I'm already struggling to walk at the moment.
