Award-winning TTRPG designer/idiot The Castle Automatic, a dungeon for HIS MAJESTY THE WORM, out now! http://hismajestytheworm.games/

Full compatibility with His Majesty the Worm 42 points to explore A day / night cycle that changes many points and NPC behaviors A GM Map and several Player Maps 2 full Meatgrinder tables Crystal Imps! Several magic items A new school of spells: the Wink!

A GM habit that I have (that I think is good) is that I'm constantly narrating my thought process to try and make it less opaque to the players. If I can't decide on something through fiat, I'll assign it a chance and say it out loud. "OK, the troll will come back to investigate if I roll a 5-6."

Heavily inspired by Morrowind, Planescape and 70's Star Wars with a dash of bronze age and art nouveau. The mood? Conan after Conan: all the heroes are dead and this is the world they built. That's OMIOS URES, my weird fantasy RPG. And it's FREE on itch.io! matheusgraef.itch.io/omios-ures

I don't usually like false rumors, but if I write one that *is* false (or partially true), the "why" it's false is important. If the NPC thinks the house on the edge of town is haunted, but really it's a Scooby Doo style false ghost, the falseness is an important part of the rumor.

In HIS MAJESTY THE WORM, when you retire a character you start new game+. The amount of XP your retired character had gives you a faux "point buy" option for your next starting character, letting you make combinations you couldn't do using normal character creation.

"[The wizards] came to kill dragons, they said, but they stayed to rob towns and temples.” “And their great heroes would come among us to test their swords,” Thar said, “and work their ungodly spells." - The Tombs of Atuan

Just a reminder: Designing Dungeons is a FREE series of discussions, practical examples, and exercises designed to walk new GMs through the process of creating a new dungeon from scratch. The course provides a hands-on approach to the act of dungeon writing in an attempt to demystify the process.

*SPOILER ALERT* In case you need to catch up before watching today’s new episode of Mythic Bastionland, here’s a recap of Episode 14: Ashes to Ashes. TL;DR: it was entirely uneventful and nothing went wrong. 😬

Castle Ravenloft doesn't fit the bill for a megadungeon, but I say that a megadungeon is five dungeon levels in a trenchcoat, this is what I mean. "Larders of Ill-Omen." "The Rooms of Weeping." "The Court of the Count." This shit slaps. See also the different regions in Castlevania: SotN.
