once people can ditch a job that does not treat them decently without fear for their revenue, bosses have to make the extra efforts to give their employees decent working conditions, which right now they don't need to worry about because as long as people need to pay a rent, they'll accept any shit

All the characters go through such compelling arcs that again, make them stronger in their own ways. Male characters are rewarded and glorified for showing sensibility, compassion and love, and those who indulge in machismo do not. just refreshing!!!

robin hobb (margaret ogden) is an incredible writer, reading this series made me remember that reading a book can actually make you feel the entire rainbow of emotions at full capacity and i'm so grateful for this friend that recommanded this series to me
