So this weekend I helped out at Gaelcon, where thanks to the very generous people attending we raised over 8000 Euro for charity.

Productive day so far. Cleaned the driveway with Fiadh, rice cooker cleaned and lunch boxes cleaned, and now updates on laptops for Gaelcon.

One of the nicest things from ironmouse subathon for me, was finding some new streamers to watch. @shaoanvt.bsky.social being one of them.

Yesterday my screens all went black. Due to the heat my pc thermally tripped and shut down, it is so hot that it cannot actively cool itself enough. I now have a fan pointed directly at them, but that was a moment. Houses in Ireland, new houses, are designed to trap heat. With this weather :(

Today is father's day in Ireland (and a lot of other places). My daughter who adored @gooseworx.bsky.social The Amazing Digital Circus, compared me to Kinger as a dad. Not in the absent minded Kinger way. In the "cares for everyone" way. Quite the compliment.

The good ending! I admit as a cis guy I’ve struggled about how to approach Jax’s pronouns. I’ve heard mixed things about using a trans person’s correct pronouns if they aren’t out yet - and Jax never got the chance to open up about that. But if Goose refers to Jax as she, that works for me!

Favourite part of seeing episode 8 on the big screen was @alexrochonva.bsky.social giving it beans with his musical number. And the audience all singing along. Reminded me of Rocky Horror in the best of ways.

Today our western hognose, Cookie, ate her first larger mouse. No longer on day old pinkies. She of course tried to start from the side because she's like that......but she did maneuver it and get it all sorted in the end.

I've never really won anything in any place I've worked before. Today I won employee of the month. I didn't expect it. Wasn't looking for it. I was just working away in my new position and well, apparently it was noticed.

So far we're ok with the storm. There is rattling of roof tiles now and again, but I don't think any have come off. Still have power, internet, water. There are alot of power outages though across the country.
