Work in politics. Here to provide political and societal witticisms…or the closest equivalent I can manage. Mainly UK, European and US politics, although I’m an equal opportunities satirist. Sweary Scot 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

* Interested in ending human rights and dignity? * Are you a racist, rapist or paedophile looking to rebrand as a “political prisoner”? * Thinking about strip mining UK public services and selling off the ashes? Nige will oblige! Join Reform UK today at their Moscow, Dubai or Florida offices 👍🏻

Feeling ever less sympathy for people accusing the UK Government of scaremongering by suggesting a few basic and sensible preparations for emergencies (and even less for Tories trying to make political capital from it). No-one is forcing you, but you live with your choices if something does happen.

Whenever you think Reform UK can’t make themselves look any more ridiculous, along they come with utter nonsense like “we demand that journalists be prevented from doing journalism”. So fundamentally unserious and unsuitable to be anywhere near power. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

“Daddy Vladi is just so good to me. Yes, he sometimes gets angry, and he doesn’t let me be with my friends any more, but he also gives me nice things”

Trump: "I think you heard about the oil deal with Russia. That is a big deal. That is massive amounts of oil coming into our country, and I want to thank President Putin to be honest with you."

It’s impossible to reverse Brexit - just like it’s impossible that the President of the United States would threaten to invade and annex Canada, or would prefer to be friends with communist dictators rather than European democracies. Things are only impossible in politics until they aren’t. 🇬🇧🤝🇪🇺

“Brexit was a huge loss both for the British people and for the European project as a whole. If the United Kingdom were to make such a decision, Spain would welcome it with open arms and once again embrace our friends in Britain.” - President Sánchez

“…if we want to grow the economy then we have to rejoin – we all know that. “From the discussions taking place, it is not ‘if’ but ‘how’ we do it” This. A million times this 👆 Cabinet ministers should put the national interest first - get with it or get out. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Actual Nigel Farage: “I have been warning for many months that I won’t come out of hiding and face difficult questions about my illegal activities without a bloody good reason, but the thought that a brown person might have done something somewhere has me positively moist, so I couldn’t resist…”

So hard to decide which aspect of Florida I’d be most keen for the UK to replicate first, between the dengue fever, the ICE goons in the streets, and the voter suppression…

What the fuck is this headline - “fails to rule out” 🤦🏻 Funny way of saying “Andy Burnham should realise sheer folly of Labour red lines, and need to reverse Brexit, in line with the prevailing view of the majority of British people” www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Suing to reverse the ban is good. Actually reporting Trump’s words and actions for what they are, and not dignifying them as presidential or in the national (or global) interest, or pretending that they are normal and sane, would be far better.

The UK needs a new “hostile environment” policy - one directed at fascist goons rather than migrants. And just like the original, the new policy should be designed to make life in the UK as difficult as possible for fascists, with everyday checks and cutting off certain support. Seems fair.

Now let’s turn Jenrick’s language around: “Oh boohoo. We’re now in a country where somebody who is a far-right thug blocks the port of Dover, and cries foul if people call for them to be arrested. I mean, come on, get a life” Two tier policing indeed. www.messengernewspapers.co.uk/news/nationa...

This might be his shittest excuse yet. And if you want to sound less Trumpy, “I know electoral law. I know donation law better than anybody” ain’t how to do it. This nicotine-stained sock puppet just makes himself look and sound more ridiculous every time he speaks. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
