it’s not really baffling or embarrassing, but in about 2015 i was sitting next to an old guy on a PC, and he didn’t know how to use a mouse. He had in fact overestimated how it worked - he was picking it up and pointing it at the screen and gesturing. like a Wii.

Incredible question. Circa 2012 I worked for a large well known telecommunications company, my only private sector job ever, and a person from the ad department sent me an ad that linked out but with no link. They asked me what a link is.

What's the most bafflingly, embarrassingly basic thing you had to explain to somebody? My ex moved into her own flat, aged 24, and was looking confused at something in the oven. I had to explain to her what a grill is and does.

Enjoying Silver Pines on PS5. Another Twin Peaks homage but has a nice feeling of old point and click games, good atmosphere and soundtrack too.

Was planning to stay in yesterday and had got food for dinner but turned out some friends were out and about. This is the situation that has led to... Monday roast.

The two highlights for me were: 1. "They need to get the best manager out there and... beg him to come" 2. "Some of these players don't go to bed at the right time. I live in Manchester. But they're going around like they're... King... William. They're not."

2am thought, they got True Faith into the film of American Psycho but one Smiths song would have been absolutely incredible and not implausible. With everything they knew then and all we know now, lol.

I keep getting ads for a new Apple TV drama starring Stephen Graham? Anyway what I know you'll all want me to deduce is that Stephen Graham plays a man whose world falls apart when other people realise he (character played by Stephen Graham) is a murderer.

He lays out concepts through live lecture, playing them off against each other, and creates vivid distinction between them in a way many writers couldn't match. It's a genius at work.
