It's been 8 days, since I said goodbye to you, Jake. The pain is still fresh and I think of you every day. I know some day we will meet again. Until then, I will think of you playing with Lucy and all the other pups on the other side. Love you, now and always.

I bought a serger and fabric at Joann Fabric, since they are closing. I sewed some reusable 'paper' towels from flannel. I made most the size of a regular paper towel and some smaller ones with the left over pieces. Hoping to stop using/reduce using paper towels.

Today my daughter and I made laundry soap. I am curious to see how long it lasts. The ingredients cost $66.17. You only need a tablespoons or 2 to do a load, so we think it will last us 6 months to a year? We were using liquid soap previously.

I opened up my winter bed today since the temps were about 65. Watered everything well. My chives are coming up and see the horehound looks green. The garlic is doing well. #raisedbeds #garden #spring

I started a ginger bug. I bought 100% fruit juice yesterday and used some of the ginger bug to make my own 'soda'. I am not sure if it was too soon to use it, but it looks like there is some fermentation action. I did burp it today. #gingerbug

I bought some limes today that were reduced price. Three packages cost $2.83. I squeezed the juice from them to store in the refrigerator. It made over 2 cups of juice. I used the rinds to make a cleaning product, by adding vinegar. 2025 is the year of "make it myself" whenever possible.

Why is Zelenskyy the only one being pressured to stop the fighting? What about pressuring Putin? You know, the dictator who actually started the war by invading a sovereign U.S. ally.

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

In the past week, I have gotten 2 violations for comments on TikTok. That has never happened to me before, but it is quite apparent they are trying to censor content. That app is useless now, and there is no free speech on TT anymore. It is done.

I spent today in the kitchen. I made sourdough bread, and a double batch of granola. It was my first time making granola amd it was quite easy. I also made some crockpot yogurt and an apple cake. It helps keep my mind off the insanity in this country.

I bought some food grade buckets with screw top gamma lids. I stocked up on flour, sugar, and jasmine rice and placed them inside the buckets with some food safe desicant packets to keep moisture out. I figured best to stock up in case of emergency.

Omg...today's sourdough was unbelievably good! I baked lid on at 475 for 25 minutes. Lid off 450 degrees for around 10? It may have been a bit longer. My oven seems to run hot, I think. Ignore the animal hair on my pants. I had to take the dog and cat to the vet today.

Left my sourdough in the fridge to cold ferment for 3 days. Thought I overdid it as felt a little dry from staying in that long. It came out of the oven fine though. Baking sourdough is one of my new favorite things!

This strainer is a game changer! It has made it extremely easy to make greek yogurt! No waste now. It holds the entire gallon! I was able to fill 2 & 1/2 wide mouth mason jars with finished yogurt. It is absolutely delicious too!

I did some winter sowing today and completed 38 containers. I found a cute baby spider on one of the milk jugs. I will likely be sowing more seeds, as I have more milk jugs saved from making yogurt. I am glad to have completed all I did today, as a cold snap is coming in a few days.
