I am up on current online trends and lingo just well enough that it amuses my 16 year old. Tonight she said, "You LARP Gen Z." Reader, I am so proud. 🤣🤣

20K words! I'm so pleased.

Working on the barbershop quartet romance is just such a joy. I have geeky little references and Easter eggs to barbershop culture and history everywhere and they make me happy. I hope someone reads it and gets some of them.

It's hard not to think about how it might sell and all that, but I'm doing a pretty good job of pushing it aside. My big "worry" is that this will almost definitely be a low heat/closed door romance, which is a big change for me.

I say almost definitely because back when I started writing Star Wars fic I absolutely could not imagine writing porn in that universe, and well.... *gestures to AO3*

Y'all. I'm writing. Daily. I'm 14,500 words into writing an ACTUAL BOOK. Do I want to pursue trad publication again? I mean, probably yeah, but I want to have a clearer road map of what type of writing career I want. But first, finish this book. (But I'm scribbling notes for others, OMG!)

This is about the most Wooyoung thing to say ever.

And I was raised in New England. I know that I was taught in elementary school that the Bad Folks in the South wanted to continue slavery so all the Good Folks in the North fought them over it, but if you're older than 9 & that is still the framework you're bringing to politics, we have issues.

The number of people I went to high school (class of '89) and college with who later came out as queer (including me) is honestly shocking. We were all there. We were either closeted or hadn't realized who we were yet--because that level of exploration wasn't discussed at all.

“If you went to high school in the 60s, 70s, or 80s, how many students with gender dysphoria did you know?” Get out of here with that. Literally die in an actual fire. How many people were out as gay then, let alone trans? How many people thought quietly that they were freaks & never spoke up? Die.

I knew exactly two out gay guys in high school. That's it. On the other hand, I had AMAZING gaydar, because almost all of my unrequited male crushes (and one boyfriend) in high school and college turned out to be gay.

This is gonna sound weird, but I think I finally managed to stumble into reading the type of books I should be writing, instead of trying to write the books I THINK I should be writing.

Fuck this guy. You will pry my Abilify, Pristiq, Focalin, etc from my cold dead fingers.

Seriously. I am on a shitton of psych meds (depression, anxiety, CPTSD, ADHD, etc etc) and I have learned the hard way that my current cocktail WORKS and removing one from the equation messes me up.

My colposcopy was hands down the most painful gyno procedure I ever experienced, and I went through endometrial cancer.

So soft and fluffy! I think I might have over proofed it a little, but it rose so stinking fast. Will definitely make again, partly because I think if I don't the family will hound me.

I made Lacey Ostermann's easy Dutch oven bread and uh. Holy Oven Spring, Batman. I'm very curious what's going on inside there with the crumb, but I have to wait until dinner. 😭

Sometimes my subconscious shouts at me. I realized I'm writing about two musicians who are both struggling to get their joy in making music back. ...as I struggle to get my joy in writing back.

My high school kid does virtual school so I work with her, and it's sometimes startling how many things I learned in school are now known to be wrong, especially in sciences. I feel like there could be generational classes like: "GenX: Here Are All the Things You Were Taught That Are Now Wrong"

It’s the end of the month, and I’d love to get a few more 35-cent royalty earnings in! These erotic stories all feature messy South Asian women. They’re varying degrees of queer. Low on plot, somewhat high on pot.
