Absolutely, and lots of other beer festivals are happening, including Shrewsbury, which I couidn't manage this year.

The demise of #CASKALE has been much exaggerated! Highly successful @stalbansbf.bsky.social & Cask Ale Week draw to a close. Keep on supporting pubs & Cask.

I'll be doing my best to support this.

I am relieved not to be in England tonight. Thanks to the 2 hour time difference and a talk at 9:00 am tomorrow, I certainly can't watch the game either. But good luck England! It won't be easy, but I am keeping the faith!

I definitely and wholeheartedly support this. We need to get the GBBF back. Maybe slimmed down, and choice of location is important. It must be centrally located so as to get passing trade as well as the regular attendees.

Debate: Revival of @camraofficial.bsky.social #GreatBritishBeerFestival in right location. Losses: GBBF, annual national celebration of British brewing industry, attracting celebrities, politicians. National attention for cask ale, coverage TV, radio & press. Major focus for #ChampionBeerofBritain

Sadly my motion was lost. Let's hope the review next year will find a way to a slimmed down GBBF, showcase for Cask, campaigning tool for CAMRA. The packed glory days of Olympia, rebuilt & unsuitable, & Earls Court, now housing, are over.

Roger Protz@rogerprotz.bsky.social

Looking forward to lively debates & seeing friends old & new @camraofficial.bsky.social AGM Members Weekend today, here in my home town of St Albans where CAMRA started. I'm moving a motion to restore GBBF asap.
