As I was cracking up reading while walking home from the library, I accidentally walked into a tree. My neighbor saw the whole thing. If that's not enough of an endorsement, I don't know what to tell you.

BOOoop. is the Game of the Week! With the addition of ghost cats, this game of jumpy cats and twitchy kittens gets even spookier. I'm even worse at this version!

Tedoku is the Game of the Week! Roll the die, flip a card, draw the die shape where the card says. 1 point for each complete row/column, 3 points for each complete box. Extremely simple, easy to teach and play, but I need more plays to see where this lands in my polyomino rankings.

You know what rules about this game? Just shuffle the deck of cards. That's the setup! I guess there's coins, and the player aids are pretty crucial for scoring, but that's so minimal. I would love to design a game that is only cards and shuffling is the only setup step. No dealing, no sorting.

That was a fun stretch of watching a movie every day Tessa was away. 25 new-to-me movies. Tampopo was wonderful! #lastfourwatched #LetterboxdFriday

Palm Island is the Game of the Week! Develop tools, trade, and build buildings, all without putting down the deck of cards. It's fidgety, in that it's addictive to play around with! Extremely difficult to put down.

Hell yeah, these last four have been great, especially Decision to Leave. And Gremlins was WILD. That Santa story... #lastfourwatched #letterboxdfriday

Catch the Moon is the Game of the Week! If there's one thing you want to be predictable in life, it's gotta be ladders. But these bad boys move in ways you'll never expect, making this dexterity game way wilder than initially presented.

Still going strong on a movie a day while Tessa's gone. Office Space was a blind spot for me, All You Need Is Kill was pretty disappointing, and IIHLIKY was incredibly stressful. #LastFourWatched #letterboxdfriday

Back to back Lapp attack! That's Not A Hat is the Game of the Week! It's so incredibly simple, but the giggles cannot lie about how fun this game is.

Magic Maze: Maximum Security is the Game (expansion) of the Week! Dodge sensors, guards, and a mustachioed Beholder to steal your weapons from the magical mall. I'm testing out a few different ways to play solo since the standard version... isn't great.

ICYMI, Santorini is the Game of the Week! Pretty happy with my sticky note doodle.

Santorini (and its many expansions) is the Game of the Week! An elegant abstract game is not the immediate candidate I think of for expansions, but that didn't stop Santorini from getting absolutely flooded with them. It gets wild, but are they missing the forest for the trees?

Not much I was super happy about. Relay really let me down at the end. The End of Oak Street was way more brutal than I was expecting. #lastfourwatched #letterboxdfriday

Anybody wanna reprint The Grand Carnival? Lots of cool people like it! I guess I should work on some pitch emails...

This is Grand Carnival by @robcramer.bsky.social - I had not heard of it prior (so many games, eh?). Good golly, I will be tracking down a copy. If you know a Canuck store carrying it, let me know! Build your park, add attractions, get people in, score points. Very satisfying and puzzly!

I love finding games at thrift stores that I've never heard of. This game is gorgeous, and the storm that sweeps across the board and picks up magnetic boats as it passes over them is very spooky and fun. And look at that illustration on the insert! If it was complete, I would have taken it home.

Love Letter (2019) is the Game of the Week! There are so so so so so many versions of the smash hit that kicked off the micro game wave in the early 2010s, and this is another one! But I do enjoy the new cards and having more info in 2-player games is nice! Wild to see how it changes over the years.

Jungo is the Game of the Week! Don't you dare rearrange your hand of cards! Only play cards that match AND are next to each other. Yes, it's like Scout. But it's new to me, so the cards aren't as sticky as my old Scout copy, so that's a plus!

Just a few pictures from Tessa's 30 Rock birthday party yesterday. Piraguas, the Liz Lemon sandwich, trivia (sponsored by Wade Bogg's Carpet World), and more. So much fun.

One Night Ultimate Werewolf is the Game of the Week! I'm ready for a Werewolf Bar Mitzvah this week, where boys become men, and men become wolves. Spooky scary!

After some pretty intense films (all really good!), I was ready for Spider-Man to stink (I'm a big hater of NWH). But that was pretty fun! I even got to tell the person next to me to put their phone away after they kept scrolling social media during the movie. #lastfourwatched #letterboxdfriday

Small Islands is the Game of the Week! Each island has its own quirks, but you gotta spread out to make the most of them. Make many little islands, or crank one up shine above the others. It looks great, but I need to play it more to get a feel for what it offers.

So my work has AwardCo, basically meaning I have 200 virtual bucks that can't earn interest because I can't just turn it into straight cash. So I want to spend it on something sooner rather than later. What would you do with 200 bucks right now?

Ratzia is the Game of the Week! This cheese spends like money in the dank underground world of the Rat Mafia. Can you get what you need before the cops bust up the party?

Ended on two strong showings, The Invite and One Cut of the Dead. Now You Three Me is astoundingly bad. And Hoppers was...there. #lastfourwatched #letterboxdfriday

Fliptown is the Game of the Week! To mark my finishing of Blood Meridian or the Evening Redness in the West by Cormac McCarthy, I'm playing a game that has less blood, depravity, and piss & sulphur black powder. But it is as cute as a button, boy howdy!

Got some movie magic (Backrooms), bad movie magic (Now You See Me and Now Two See Me), and some perfect real magic (Ricky Jay and His 52 Assistants). #lastfourwatched #letterboxdfriday

Finally feeling better after throwing up so much yesterday. AND I just finished reading Blood Meridian. It's like I've been wrung out physically, mentally, and emotionally all at once.

Ubungo is the Game of the Week! Race to solve your own polyomino puzzle! That's it! You aren't solving the same puzzle, so the race aspect is kinda weird. Not my favorite, but I liked making this week's sticky note!
