It might be kind of hauntological of me, but I always figured the idea of a ballot boycott was to like, use your organizational capacity to have a general strike and a big 'government is illegitimate' rally where 50k people show up so the politician who gets elected with 10k votes looks fake.

I think using genAI to make images, even little insignificant ones, is hobbyless loser behavior. It completely sours my opinion on people forever, even if they have done good stuff in the past. If you think that is an overreaction or "crashing out", you can take your cringe comp screenshot and go.

"We like this thing you do when you lie where your tongue flicks out for a second but to really hammer it home, when we come back in 2 years can you have an Argentine tegu that just kind of hangs out... is visually juxtaposed with you, so people get it"

Reading 'Lolita' and doing a really good job of not empathizing with Humbert until he starts complaining about American roadside tourist traps and gift shops.

Movies like Digger and You Can See Everything are ultimately about how movies are evil because the exorbitantly high cost of production and the ability to manipulate the truth via the indexicality of the photographic image creates perverse incentives unlike the morally superior art form of comics.

When I was a kid, I was so poor that I hesitated to even buy manga, so I thought, “If I draw my own, it’ll be practically free! 🤗” and I’ve been drawing ever since.

Really Enjoyed "Foucault's Pendulum" by Umberto Eco. A funny story about a middle aged scholar who finally learned how to become the main character of his own life. and a morality tale about how new-age woo-woo conspiracy hucksters are self-deluded poseurs even in a sublime metaphysical universe

The Comics Reading Roundabout is a monthly live-reading series that brings fantastic graphic novel creators to the Greater Boston area as well as features local authors from around the Boston Area! This Sunday 10/11, we hear from LJ Baptiste, Sadie Saunders, Catalina Rufin, and Bryce Davidson!

Spoilers are a very fake thing that I can kind of wrap my head around but talking to people who avoid 'paratextual information' on a film they want to see make me feel like I'm talking to a Martian.

Painful to be a 20-year long fan of Nekrogoblikon, the metalcore band who writes good songs but whose gimmick is like, "what if we had a Gwar guy but his thing is he's unfunny on purpose "

Not sure what possessed me, when given the care of a E Standard guitar (Can't make me re-tune my Floyd Rose from D) to first begin learning "Soul Thrashing Black Sorcery" instead of like, a song people know and like.

Cat demanded we watch "Peepoodo and the Super Fuck Friends" but all the Dailymotion embeds on the Bobbypills site are broken so we had to scour the internet for traces of the show.

Our (tragically small) haul from #SPX Kicking myself for not wandering around more and spending like $100. Thanks to everyone who talked to us and hung out over this past weekend!

Getting offended by the Zero Woolfe thumbnail about not being able to draw a bike. (I'm sure the video is broadly about the fallibility of recall and not directed at bike-repairing cartoonists with semi-eidetic memory [idk didn't watch])

Coyote vs Acme was timely and laugh-out-loud funny at like 50 different moments but as a die-hard cartoons-liker I'd just like to complain about the constantly ugly "cell shaded style" 3d models.

The rig on the coyote was pretty good most of the time but just about every other character looked weird and off. There were occasional hand drawn cuts that just looked infinitely better and made the ugliness of the models stick out more. (especially at the end and with human cartoons)
