I think Death Walks Behind You by Atomic Rooster from 1970 is my favorite spooky October Halloween song. Add it to your playlists. Do it. #NowListening #Halloween #RockSky youtu.be/04qf3dCi00A?...

Hey @leolaporte.me @paris.nyc @jeffjarvis.bsky.social per your discussion about AI people on Bluesky on Intelligent Machines, I found this starter pack very helpful go.bsky.app/L71zwey and there is a second one too, linked at the top. Not the same crowd as X but I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
Apple Pay is the front part of your wallet where you keep your payment cards and Apple Wallet is the back part of your wallet where you stuff old faded receipts and expired coupons.
Apple Wallet and Apple Pay serve different functions, but you need them both to make online payments and store your cards.

This is a great overview of how large language models work and have evolved by Steve Gibson. As a non-computer scientist I learned a lot from Steve’s explanation. It also helped me see why there are such mixed views on open weight models and why Anthropic in particular isn’t too enthused by them.
AI safety often depends on the model knowing when to say no. But what if that refusal behavior can be removed? Security Now explains restraint ablation and why guardrails may be more fragile than people assumed. buff.ly/jk3BEYi
Listening to my (probably) favorite ZZ Top record today in honor of Mr. Frank Beard. I say probably because Tres Hombres is pretty great too. Tejas has so many cool songs on it. Thanks, Frank. album.link/i/1728071379 #MusicSky #NowSpinning #NowPlaying #FrankBeard #ZZTop
This is pretty fun, and getting back to 6 seconds has made me realize how stupidly long most “short-form” social videos have gotten.
@divine.video is opening up! we're launching without invite codes. And we're doing it with the help of a brand partner, TacoBell, to bring back 2016 in 2026. www.prnewswire.com/news-release...

This is something I've been thinking about for a while. I love AI. I use it daily. I find it so useful. But I'm old enough to remember before 2022 when there was no shortage of low value schlock on the internet. AI just made it easier. riffs.rockandrollreclaimed.com/a/3msvxpsnvf...
I am VERY excited to see what Ryan Coogler can do with The X-Files. I am, however, NOT excited to read here that Chris Carter still wants to continue his season 11 storyline. That was painful. Go surfing and let Coogler take it from here, Chris.
The creator of the '90s cult favorite is excited to see what the Oscar winner comes up with.
The reason I enjoy being on Bluesky and the wider AT Proto (including now Offprint) is, with some effort you can curate the experience you want to have here. Example: my feed is full of thoughtful, nuanced, and generally positive comments about @toni.bsky.team and @reckless.bsky.social on Decoder.
