The encouraging part is pretty plain and the article points it out.  The states that represent the potential to flip the Senate from Republican to Democrat control are seeing increases in early voting in huge - COLOSSAL - numbers; and most of those increases are either Democrats or Independent voters.

Three little kids and a teacher were shot and killed at their school today in Bend, Oregon. Two more were injured. Our hearts are broken and we’re angry. It’s disgraceful that extremists keep blocking critical, lifesaving laws while kids die in their classrooms. America can do better. It must.
