Cultural studies, literature and politics, mostly. I actually like social media. I violently dislike AI, that very expensively produced virus. Trans-friendly, anti-racist, anti-capital. Every falling empire gets the crazed tyrant it deserves.

For those wondering why the epicenter of French discontent has coalesced around the education system, I would recommend reviewing the career of Ur-Macronist, Laurent Bigorgne, head of the Institut Montaigne, McKinsey consultant, and a cokehead with an inclination to using date rape drugs.

Our Laurent was on the list of Minster of Education replacement until his little oopsy of 2022 cast him, temporarily, in the shade. Like all those close to Macron - a man who has fatally confused narcissism and ethics.

Doomscrolling bugs me, especially combined with a don't look back ethos. I remember when the assassination of Charlie Kirk was the reichstag fire and Franco's seizure of power all rolled into one. Kirk is now receding in the annals of martyrdom behind George Lincoln Rockwell. Rest in piss.

I care about polls the same way I care about the grosses to new movies - I'm provided with information that I really don't care about, but become, against my will, addicted to. A real instance of the appetite coming with the feeding.

The whole business is an unsubtle control mechanism, which came into its own in the late 40s for specifically that purpose. A bad poll, or an indication of an unpopular position, has a not so subtle effect on making all those who think of themselves as "different drummers" join the band nonethesss.

Macron is going down in the disgrace and ignominy that has characterized his entire reign. The address last night that he deigned to give had zero pertinence to the causes of the protest, but he did his best to put on his indignation act. He's gonna track down the perpetrators!

Mucho ink has been spilled – or whatever we want to call the spillage of pixels across a screen – about legitimation. Generally under the heading of the State’s legitimacy, to reference the ulers. But how about the instruments? Such as our current crisis with the police - worldwide.

The tax cuts on the wealthiest, starting in the Reagan era, have had a huge price - roughly around the 40 trillion dollars in debt that the U.S. now stumbles around with. Good luck doing flimflam Fed Reserve loans in that environment when AI goes South.

I’m not going to do the math on how a 2.1 percent GDP tax cut has ramified over almost 50 years, but look at the wheezing of the American machine as it tries to support its retirees and its billionaires, and you tell me what this looks like.

Under Clinton, the Dem party decided to accommodate a stripped down social democratic structure to a tax system set up to imitate the 1920s. Growth, though, was going to finance that structure. Well, we saw how that turned out.

One of the conclusions young people are reaching is that the neo-classical defense of Capitalism is a defense of a system that can’t afford retirement for old people or education for young people. Yet the very folks who write this kind of nonsense about “reforming” the system –

– that is, 99 percent of mainstream media – can’t draw the simple conclusion that what they are suggesting is that there’s a high acceptable level of illiteracy among the young and death and poverty among the old. We can see through them, though. We can.

2. The NYT's elegy for their guy, President "Reformin'" Macron, is full of this shitty form of reasoning, bemoaning the cost of the French retirement system without coming clean and saying, you gotta let at least 15 percent of retirees die in their own shit.

You know, if I was the CEO of a company that owed 200 billion dollars in debt on gross earnings of a billion a year, I too would be warning/hoping for the end of the world. And the only way to stop it, I'd say, is for the Gov to buy up our debt!

1.I always think it is funny that AI freaks like to say that AI is conscious. If consciousness really costs a trillion dollars in energy investment, and we have 8 billion or so humans who are conscious - where are the trillions spent on them?

2. I want my trillion dollars, as a little AI replicant. But the AI freaks aren't really serious. Not one, yet, has said, well, the CEO's job is actually to keep his enterprise in the middle or top of his sector - an algorithmic activity we can hand over to AI

3. firing the CEO & saving companies billions. Because when it comes to "leadership", we are suddenly in the land of "visionaries" - we suddenly don't want a information vaccuum cleaner to actuallly dethrone, say, Musk or Zuckerberg. Cause, uh, FREEDOM!

The AI peeps talking about the end of the word are really reacting to the trillion dollars in loans that are out there making a product that has pretty little reak return work. The best economic explanation is that scene in Goodfella where they torch a bar for the insurance money.

HENRY (V.O.) And, finally, when there's nothing 1 left, when you can't borrow another buck from the bank or buy another case of booze, you bust the joint out. CUT DIRECTLY TO: LARGE CLOSE UP OF - HANDS making rolls of toilet paper being kneaded into long rolls with Sterno.

In James C. Scott’s Seeing Like the State, there is an appreciation of Lenin as a modernist figure, in particular like Le Corbusier. Scott takes Lenin’s text, What is to be Done, as his starting point for discussing the organization of the Communist party as a classic modernist project:

Reading the NYT about the American "retreat" in the face of the Iran war, it is striking that both lib and conservative politicos have pretty much the same idea: that America is always right and must always reign supreme - a delusion of grandeur.

The U.S. debt of 40 trillion dollars is composed half of taxes unlevied on the wealthy, and half of military spending and its disastrous consequences. But the delusion of grandeur seems to have ossified, and that is dangerous for everybody.

Megyn Kelly exists so that we have at least some equivalent, on the female side, to Andrew Tate. Hilariously, Kelly was a proto-Lincoln project figure for a while because she was sexually harrassed at Fox. A soulless beacon of cruelty and stone cold stupidity - this is def her moment.

Neoliberalism always ends up in the Kleinian shock doctrine. 12 years of Macronism, and more than eighty years of the government subventing private schools, have taken their toll: public services are overworked, understaffed and underfunded. No excuses. Manifest at Republique today 1330/

Big day in Paris. Even the top lycee are being blocked. Meanwhile, the cops are out of control. I'm planning on going to the protest scheduled for this afternoon, and I hope the out of control cops are not going to make this a bloody protest. It is their choice.

What are GOP strategists thinking? focusing on Jan. 6 2021 right as the midterms are almost upon us? seem to be There seems to be a diaper haze around the big T. They really believe pardoning traitors was a popular move. Of course, the NYT still believes in the "vibechange" too. Elites are weird.

Feminism was and is a completely admirable program to create bonds of solidarity between women. However, between the effort and the reality fallls the shadow - and the need for work. As has often been pointed out, the majority of white women vote R. Have since LBJ. But this can change.

I feel - it is just a feeling - that the majority of young white women have had enough. Still, an intersectional analysis of ideological positions would have to ask: what are these voters voting for? How does gender play out in the U.S.? This I, a cis white leftie guy, don't understand.

I haven't tuned into the NYT gurgling their macronist responses to the police violence against the Lyceens yet. But I have seen a lot of the videos - including a video of an insane police charge at our school, Voltaire

I understand the relic-mania of the Middle Ages, for I like relics myself. Not that I collect them – I don’t really have that collecting vibe in my life. I’m a great thrower-outer, too great in fact. I have regretted certain trips to the dumpster. #Pascal

The psychology of the relation btw Trump and his Maga base is very similar to the Epstein routine of grooming - first compliments then degradation. The AI of Jesus cleaning King Trump's shoes is about a blasphemous image as any in the western canon.

After you suck down this you will gradually learn to accept anything. Myself, who read Sade and Bataille in grad school had little incling that this stuff would become a Republican party norm. It retains the power to shock. The Dada-ists would weep! Their forms appropriated by fascism!

It is pure sadian ekphrasis. But the ass kissing evangelical leadership will suck it down with gusto. Followed by the rest. The sadism has a purpose: it breaks your moral code, your norms, your inhibitions.
