Appearance standards. 🏴‍☠ SS. Explicit physical and racial criteria; strict uniform, grooming and bearing as markers of elite moral status. 🏴‍☠ MAGA. Stricter fitness tests, daily PT, clean‑shaven rules, banned beards/long hair; emphasis on male combat standards and “warrior ethos.”

Ideological purpose. 🏴‍☠ SS ideological elite & political soldiers of Nazism; tasked with realising Nazi worldview & racial purity. 🏴‍☠ MAGA reframes military as “warrior” force aligned with Trumpfian conservative identity; an anti‑woke cultural project.

Trumpfs destabilisation strategy has 4 stages: 🏴‍☠ Rule change: exec orders, legislation, agency guidance 🏴‍☠ Administrative disruption: demands, litigation, confusion, capacity loss 🏴‍☠ Local pressure: agents, NG, intimidation, polling-site conflict 🏴‍☠ Post-election: refusal, delay, certification fights

By describing rivals as enemies of God, he lowers the threshold for coercion, exclusion and institutional override. The association to communism is a scare label, a moral label & a permission structure for harsher politics. He turns progressive opponents into an anti-religious civilizational threat

The speech moves past negative campaigning and becomes a move to turn politics into a struggle between the faithful and the impure, which elevates partisan conflict into a quasi-religious mission. He is also binding his coalition together through shared moral panic and sacred purpose.

Other errors are logical but operationally inept. The reflecting pool is the example here. A lot of the errors are what no competent professional would do. Attacking Iran is the example here. Others are - releasing national security info via a group chat to a reporter - miscommunicating legal instructions such that they invite litigation - rushing regulation without basic checks

It's a long list of dumb errors; I was waiting for this latest example of stupidity to land but could have led with the reflecting pool because the common denominator is moronic incompetence

Questions on the cleansing: 🪓How many sitting Republicans are replaced by Trump‑loyalists? 🪓 Are they concentrated in key positions? 🪓 Does the revenge tour alienate independents, moderates & local power brokers? I don't see this leading to a stronger MAGA hold on Congress

The very bearish bond markets concern will be: is Warsh’s new inflation framework legitimate reform or measurement manipulation to justify rate cuts for fiscal reasons? Given Warsh’s inflation redefinition is unclear, the ambiguity creates policy uncertainty & push yields higher in the short term

The US is becoming authoritarian at home at the same time as becoming hegemonically‑imperial abroad. US leadership used to be coherent, trusted and respected. Now it favours improvisation, humiliation and unpredictability, treating allies and weaker states as targets to force bargains on

I think the religious element is to help cover the corruption and bribery. The regime creates or tolerates pathways where foreign actors can gain access by enriching the president’s family or orbit. Domestic corruption binds the coalition internally, while foreign self-dealing binds it externally

I don't think the christofascist term is sufficient. The Trumpf regime is moralised personalism, not just “Christian nationalism + state power.” The center of gravity is the leader himself, who is framed as the indispensable guardian of a Christian‑national order. It's more like Holy Maoism

If repeated, the corruption track moves from present to embedded. If the settlement becomes a template for other politically motivated payouts, then corruption moves from a byproduct of authoritarian drift to becoming one of the regime’s stabilising pillars. I'm so deeply disgusted with all this

Here corruption is a mechanism for coalition maintenance. It keeps supporters aligned by giving them access to state resources and by making them complicit in the regime’s improprieties. I think it's how Trumpf will control fleeing allies such as Orbán and Ziobro
