Had the last two episodes been one episode finale special, I would’ve been okay with it but due to the separation, the suspense I felt was deflated. I oddly felt like Game of Thrones fans when the finale actually happened — you thought the finale was gonna pay off whatever happened in the penultimate episode but uh nope, that did not happen. The difference? At least Bleach had a definitive ending with no plot holes — it was simply the arrangement or the fact that both episodes combined would’ve been satisfying as one anime finale special.I…

Sometimes, when putting a story together or preparing for such, I hit a wall or two (thankfully, no concussions). The best way for me to cleanse my head a little is to read a book, any book. In turn, I found myself writing more into the final chapter of the Drafts project. Every month since last October had its ups and downs but I knew it would be part of the assignment to commit to — every month a new chapter, no matter the length.

Even if the debut episode was equivalent to 2 1/2 episodes in length, that’s something David Productions should’ve had Netflix avoid. If you weren’t ready to have a full 1st season to premiere weekly, do not tease the audience, let alone the dedicated fanbase that had been yearning. Thankfully, they premiered the new episodes 3 weeks ago and it’s definitely an improvement. I do wish they had used an Americana styled pop/country song for the outro but alas here we are.

If your scripts for the events are gonna be bad, at least let it be because you put effort. Usually when effort by humans is put in, usually it’s not all a mess and there ends up having some good things here and there.

When it decided to rain, I felt like someone that went muffdiving; I said what I said. I managed to get past that hurdle that I ran into in writing chapter 8 of FireFrei. It took some good thought and it boiled down to remembering the overarching theme of the story — brotherhood. The FireButt band isn’t some ragtag group of dudes just doing things and fighting monsters in the city— they treat each other as good brothers, watching each others’ backs because they understand that what’s going on is more than just any single one of them.

Didn’t really bother making any shorts for my Hades playthrough or continued my playthrough of my new Elden Ring character. It’s not work or fatigue-related either. When I said I would be turning my attention to FireFrei, I meant it. I spent from 7am to almost 4 or 5am editing from the Preface up to all of Chapter 6. As I had mentioned on Facebook and Instagram, the format is in double space and in poetic stanza form. It just so happens that it makes the reading experience smoother.

I’ve recently taken a deeper plunge into Octopath Traveler 0 and I’m glad I have. It cooks slow but surely and you’re rewarded for your time invested in story development. I enjoy how initially you charge forward into one direction of your protagonist’s journey but as things flesh out, the game hints at you, based on danger level, where you should travel next so that you’re not left for hours beating your head or grinding needlessly.

It also seems like this weekend up until next week will have lower temperatures and more rain; I welcome all of it. Within this past week, I manage to make solid progress with…

Picking Up Where I Left Off — Knowing where I’m at, how Staycation is going.

ron322.comPicking Up Where I Left OffI finished streaming Hades on Twitch fresh outta watching the National Puerto Rican Day Parade. Honestly, I wish I had reached the conclusion sooner but I did it. I also had reached a certain point when it comes to gaming content on my channel where I may want to change the approach. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy playing the games and adding my analysis and commentary but at some point, I just…want to capture the moments that mattered to me and share it instead of all of it. True to my word, the episodes will be at a Sunday 9am-5pm slot for all to see and catch up.

ron322.comUntitledWrite your guide to setting healthy boundaries in relationships. When addressing something, state it plainly and with clarity If you’re not ready to talk about something, make it known. Don’t let a person second-guess or leave them in a loop that may induce anxiety on their end. If there’s a time where you know it’s best to discuss it, notify immediately. It’s okay to let someone know that you’re not comfortable with something. Whether you explain why (or not) is at your discretion. If you and the other person can’t seem to ever have an exchange without it verging on a heated argument, it’s best to low contact to no contact. Particularly for online discourse — if a commenter resorts to name calling or attacking your appearance, instant block. Don’t feed their energy.

The Story Continues (and Weather Talk)

ron322.comThe Story Continues (and Weather Talk)I recently learned about the abnormal heat wave that’s been hitting the UK this week. I had to use the Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion to understand it’s between 91.4-98.6°F (33-37°C). For here in Florida, the 91-93° is normal since by July and August it’s always 95-97° here (not counting any possible heat index changes). Apparently, being that hot this early in the UK is very unusual. Given that their use of central AC and fans aren’t as prominent as the USA, it didn’t take much work to understand why they’re acting like scrambled eggs in a frying fan.

Music in my Life; More Writing

ron322.comMusic in my Life; More WritingI’ve managed to finish the April entry of Drafts. I’m happy to see that I managed to make it longer than the February and March entries combined. I did say that each chapter’s length would vary. It’s been a writing project that pushes me to just write a story. It isn’t perfect but it motivates me to keep my mind active — at times more active than my body’s allowed outside of work. Just the other day, I was looking up how to master tracks on Logic Pro 11 since I have often recording, mixed and just released my music but in terms of mastering, that’s a music production aspect that I somehow had whooshed over my head.

Enjoying the Hiatus.

ron322.comEnjoying the Hiatus. It’s been awhile since I’ve streamed — either on YouTube or Twitch. In the process, I’ve taken time to enjoy the little moments of life. I feel as though my body has said, “Take time to read and to sleep. It’s okay to not be plugged into the digital world and enjoy the present”. I still feel as though my body is readjusting to not streaming. There are playthroughs I started and either haven’t finished or haven’t taken a full deep dive on. For some of us, gaming and streaming is a means of socializing while also sharing our enjoyment of a game with others.

Not an April’s Fool — Drafts and more Reading!

ron322.comNot an April’s Fool — Drafts and more Reading!I’m 41 and the most notable thing for me as sign of aging is how my facial is mostly white — not grey or some salt and pepper. It’s mostly white. The top part of my hair is still color-rich but my sides are starting to show that silvery white. 41 Approaches. Thoughts on Hades, Drafts.

ron322.com41 Approaches. Thoughts on Hades, Drafts. The age of 41 draws near this Sunday and for once, I have zero plans. It’s not that I don’t care or become indifferent, it’s just that times have gotten hard enough to where the thought of planning anything for myself has its own line of anxiety now. In light of this, I’ve been having fun recently in the last month or so playing Hades and Hades II. They’re truly the GOATs of roguelike for a reason. What I’ve found amazing in them is how they’re part video game and part Greek Mythology course all in one.

Drafts Continues

ron322.comDrafts ContinuesAfter what felt like an absolute writer’s block for this whole month in regards to the Drafts story, I managed to write more yesterday in one go. Thankfully, the January entry ended at an excellent point in order for February to kick off without feeling like it was trying to finish a thread before starting a new one. I knew that fixing myself to write monthly, no matter how big or small a chapter, would be a menace for me but it needed to be done. As the story continues, the more it feels like my character is in a world where things shift and change and yet doesn’t distract from the adventure.

FireFrei writing resumes; Drafts story progression!

ron322.comFireFrei writing resumes; Drafts story progression!I got to watch A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and this far, I enjoyed the premiere. In a world where shows usually have this obsession with starting off hot, hard, dark or aggressive, it’s nice to have a show start off simple. Knowing ahead of time who Egg is, I at least have the knowledge that what is coming from this show will be good — especially if George R.R. Martin himself was directly present and involved on set. I’ve been enjoying the time off from streaming. Don’t get me wrong, I do have the itch from time to time but after 5 years of streaming content that consists of in-game commentary, reactions and breakdown, I’m occasionally reminded by YouTube that I’m an artist, not just a gaming content creator.

Monthly Writing

ron322.comMonthly WritingHey 322 Crew, Fall is definitely arrived here in Tampa. Morning temps clocking in the low 60s and soon mid-50s. It’s truly refreshing and the days of mid-80s or 90s are behind us. Work schedule has opted to mess with my sleep pattern but as of today, things will be back to normal. I have begun to start a monthly writing schedule non-FireFrei related. At this time, the name of the story is called Drafts. It had been on my mind to do a story project where I write a chapter, long or short, for each month an at the conclusion of 12 months, release it in printed format.

In the middle of all the political heat happening here in the USA, it’s been refreshing to just put step away and do what I love — which is drawing and writing.
