Had so much fun hopping on here and talking about one of my most beloved decks. Also as a small spoiler for the episode… I did it! Current cut for it is deadly dispute, but idk if that will be the final choice haha. Also looking for my Stinkweed Imp to throw in there.

Our guest this week is Tyler, aka @ropearrow.bsky.social ! They are the first @magic.wizards.com artist to guest on the pod (Draw Your Hand Secret Lair). Tyler brought an Alesha Commander deck. Neale & Vinny talk about the Zeta set hype before its release. untappedlibraries.com/episode-029-...

"The First case, the main event one with all the characters, is the picture of the main event and current moment. meeting people who've been there years and those who are having their first time at commander sealed. " Beyond the Machina talks about the prizes he created (1/x)

Oh and in response to my claim of the arena alt art, I was able to find this (incomplete) imgur album, and here are some of the (bad) custom cards I made from them years ago long before I had an SLD haha! imgur.com/a/mtga-card-...

So excited to have made it to the semi-finals 😤 happy to have made it on before it joins my memorial of favorite pods no longer with us. Rest in Peace Bolcast, I’m so sorry Ken, and I can’t wait to see what Mike does next!

What am I going to do without the only Magic the Gathering™️ podcast in my life? RIP

Informal as hell but an announcement nonetheless. Bolcast is ending. Recording two more episodes and calling it. Thanks to @load3r.bsky.social @indigogentleman.bsky.social and @gamesfreaksa.bsky.social for the ride as well as a ton of other people who helped and guested along the way

Not that I am entitled to that, I’m super grateful to have gotten any cards at all. It’s the coolest thing I’ve ever done, but I wish I’d be told to quit submitting instead of the seemingly false hope I’ve gotten in person before. The players clearly like my work I’m not self conscience about that

redesigned the website to be more useful (preorder-specific info), more future proofed (for me, Cal) to use, and also imo look a little bit cooler stitcherssupply.com

The perfect playmat for my white-border burn deck has arrived 🔥🛹 @rhysticstudies.bsky.social @ropearrow.bsky.social @stitcherssupply.bsky.social (The one-of Tibalt is ostensibly for delirium, but really it’s to tilt your opponent when they see it go to the bin.)

Just clocked out after Eleven hours and fifty seven minutes. I’m not like a nurse or something important. My day job is at an LGS, and I worked about the same shift Monday. Busiest day of the week and I’m the only employee for 12 hours lol my job genuinely sucks.

Without reference artists, photographers and models huge part of art would be missing completely from our lives. Lets give them the praise they deserve!

Alfred / Alfie@jookpubstock.bsky.social

As a photographer and model who is always striving to improve for the sole purpose of providing references for artists, it’s a bit disheartening to still see the idea popping up that using references for art is “bad” or “cheating”. But I’m glad to see so many artists defending our work. Thank you. 🌼

*tapping aggressively on this sign* GUYS, ARTISTS WILL ACTUALLY ADORE AND WORSHIP U AND GIVE U AMAZING RESULTS IF U DO THIS WHEN U COMMISSION THEM!! We do not shame u for ur "horrible" skills, it actually gives us a better idea to chat u want and it results in a better execution ✨✨

How is it that every single job I hear back from is somehow way worse than my already shitty job? The USPS said I’d have one day a week 60+ hours with no vacation for 2 years (would essentially mean I’d have to quit art) and everything else has been just as bad.

Is this the right dragon? Keep your eyes on the skies and your heart in the cards with my 5/5 Dragon! Haha fun fact I dont really use my own tokens, so my commander decks tend to have Yugioh cards as tokens haha. Turns out it tilts a lot of people and I had to reference it with this one!

I’d also like to take a moment to spotlight this badass piece from @ropearrow.bsky.social ! This is concept art for the project I’m working on but I thought it fit the announcement well.
