I see why people were doing reintroductions now. I am an ADHD/Autism self-advocate and researcher. I skeet these things sporadically ADHD/Autism/AuDHD science, local Aotearoa (NZ) politics, my own personal experiences with AuDHD. I also skeet a lot of shitposts, and reskeet cool art I love.

Ugh, more medication break discourse around the place. There's not any evidence that taking ADHD medication consistently lowers it's therapeutic value. More likely natural fluctuations or changes in life circumstances cause people to believe their meds no longer work.

In my experience people thinking their meds have stopped working have often not developed enough systems alongside medication to manage the ADHD. Medication is part of the solution, not the solution.

It is astounding that buying pre-built PCs is now cheaper in NZ rather than building it yourself. System I am looking at is $1076 cheaper than I can get the parts for...

There are some AI tools that I have found useful. Rescript is one. It uses a local speech processing model (nothing is uploaded) to transcribe your speech, and allows you to edit video to remove or correct words.

The concept of thinking before I speak is so foreign to me. When I rehearse speech, my natural way of speaking usually takes over and I discard what I had planned to say, or if I do it sounds so horrifically artificial and boring for others. I won't talk about stuff I don't know well though.

Enshrouded has the first building system in a game where it is a joy to use, and genuinely enables you to create breathtaking scenes without needing to invest a lifetime into fighting with the tools.

In the process of running an Intro to AuDHD group program, and I have begun to realise how important having spaces for AuDHD people to interact with each other is for self-acceptance.

RIP my wallet, I have to buy more RAM :( To put this in context the same RAM I bought in 2025 for $199 is now $918.85.... Fuck AI.

Enshrouded is my GotY, nothing else comes close. It's absolutely massive and such an incredibly technical achievement. The sense of wonder you get just exploring is what I miss from so many games.

Their voxel system is just incredible. The amount of content they made in two years of early access is so mindblowing to me.

Not one to side against AI criticism but I feel the study design of that "10 mins of AI use makes you lazy or stupid" is pretty dog shit. People who were told they wouldnt be penalised for skipping answers or getting it wrong. Offered AI and had it removed for 3 questions did poorly for $2.60.

Redo the study offer more money and tell them payment is conditional on their correct answers in a lab environment not using an online platform ffs.

You pay me $2.60 to do a quiz, assign me to a group where I am encouraged to use AI then told I wont be penalised for doing it incorrectly and it takes 15 minutes. I'd struggle to take it seriously. There is no limitations section in the preprint either.

As someone who works in the mental health sector, I cannot state enough that a right wing government will kill so many people through austerity. This is known fact, not hyperbole. This is beareaucratic violence against vulnerable populations, to "save" money.

The naivety most people have is not realising this is the goal. The people implementing this know the outcome and want that.

Being non-productive actually exacerbates depression for a lot of people. The idea that people willingly want to stay depressed and barely surviving on a poverty line income is not true of the majority. It's such lazy scapegoating. Fixing workplace culture issues and raising wages would do more.

I am constantly reminded of this cause I do ADHD assessments, and I am always like "why is this person under 18 using an adult service" then I do the basic math :(

Honestly I would vote instantly for any party that had a policy on developing third spaces that were more available to everyone.

Simply the best socio-economic policy anyone can vote for this election. If I was splitting hairs, I would say that the six months wait is about six months too long, but it's still a great start.

The change of 'by accident' to 'on accident' in modern vernacular is something I can't adjust to. By way of an accident (par accidens - is the Latin origin). At some stage in the 1990s, 'on accident' became the opposite of 'on purpose' probably due to a childhood mistranslation of grammar rules.

Can't even really fault the change, because there's is lots of precedent for having 'on' associated with intentionality: on purpose on impulse on a whim It makes sense, it just sounds so grating to me. Might start saying 'by purpose'

It's one of those things that is now so common that it will get the same death that 'literally' got where common use overrides functional meaning or the rule. Language evolves, I just feel that I do not always evolve with it.

This article changed my life by helping me realise I was Autistic. Kieran Rose is an incredible person who also published my favourite paper on masking with @dramypearson.bsky.social. Few people have helped me understand autism as much as Kieran. Please donate to cause if you can in quoted post!

"If you're entitled to moments of rest, of imperfection, of laziness and sloth, then so are homeless people, and people with depression, and people who are addicted to drugs. If your life has value no matter how productive you are, so does every other human life." - D Price, Laziness Does Not Exist

Hating yourself at a core level is a deeply unique and painful experience that no one should have to endure. Some days I see it multiple times in the same day and having been there I wish that others didn't have to experience it too. If I could figure out how I fixed this I would explain.

But it was so many things at the same time, and I think a lot of my experience was unique to me. Even if I could write a guide I highly doubt it would be universal. It's frustrating knowing what this feels like and not being able to give people clear ideas about how to change it.

Routine (the video game) reminds me of how game design used to exist, with show don't tell. Will never forget putting a friend who has only played new games into Half Life and him being completely confused about what to do because it used environmental design rather than waypoints and maps.
