If you want to know what’s going on in Brazil, read this thread:

I haven’t slept a full night in three weeks ahead of the polls opening in Brazil today. I might be shouting into a void here, but if you can spare a few seconds to send good energy towards our elections today and for the largest country in South America to beat fascism, please do so. 🇧🇷

Faraz Shariat’s excellent film in which a young prosecutor faces an indifferent legal system after being the target of a hate crime. Set in present-age Germany but very relevant to Northern Ireland and beyond.

How did Kate O'Flynn prepare for the Sunset Cocktails party on 'Widow's Bay'? "It did just feel like a massive playground," the Emmy nominee told Katey Rich at The Ankler's Women Shaping Television luncheon - mrf.lu/2CjF_

This is a bit Bloomsbury-centric, but is every other TV drama shot in Senate House? It seems like everything has a sequence inside a marbled, mid-century government-esque building. (The University of London must make a fortune in location fees.)

Does anyone else sometimes focus on a date so hard (eg. a deadline) that when the next day finally comes around and shows on your phone screen you feel like Bill Murray waking up to a different radio show in Groundhog Day? As in, the idea of it was previously unimaginable? Just me, then.

Update: So I did see TRAIN DREAMS. Definitely not the best film of the year. It had some nice moments, but the fantasy floral deathbed looked so like an overdone Kardashian dinner table it ruined it for me.

Everyone is sharing wonderful Udo Kier memories so here’s mine: once in Rotterdam, I was going up an escalator while he was coming down. We didn’t even lock eyes or anything. True story.

Great programme. Despite the revisiting and recognition of Wanda over the last 10 years or so Barbara Loden remains an enigmatic figure. What I know of her comes mostly from interviews on YT and old newspaper profiles around the release of Wanda describing her as Elia Kazan’s wife and not much else.

Having successfully avoided BACK TO BLACK thus far, seeing the first two minutes in which Marisa Abela’s Amy swoons at the mention of Ella Fitzgerald when the actual Amy didn’t rate her, was quite enough for me.

Made the mistake of going on twitter. What an irksome place, full of riled up, condescending morons whipping each other up into a frenzy. Hello, Blue Sky and sweet relief!

You are up to date.
