Fellow artists we lost one of our own today: my grandfather passed on to the Great Art Studio in the Sky this morning. I wanted to share one of his final pieces before retirement, a self-portrait titled "Unfinished Journey," to honor his memory.

When I was very small I went into his art studio and asked him why none of his pencils had erasers. He told me he, like all real artists, never made a mistake. And I seriously believed that until I was a teenager and got introduced to kneaded erasers and thus discovered his ruse...!

I wanna get on the fan merch displays at indie comic con discourse but I’m too busy selling comics at the actual indie comic con lmao RIP me

I guess I’ll have to necro that thread in a few days. As someone that is a both a highly successful comics seller at these shows and has given a lot of advice to newer exhibitors (including artists coming from the anime con context) I have a lot of Thoughts.

There’s been multiple versions of the Rosh Hashanah griffin, this is the first artwork from 2019, which was also sold at SPX 2022, and has a long history of online popularity. Griffins were an important symbol to medieval Ashkenazim and I’m singlehandedly bringing them back. Chag sameach!

Thank you so much for all the love on this project! Here is a video showing what the physical flipbooks look like. And to answer a popular question: YES, these WILL BE FOR SALE ONLINE (and at future cons) once I print/bind a larger edition this fall!

Hey, if you're coming to SPX? Do a favor to your favorite indie cartoonists and wear a mask. If you're traveling, please wear one on the plane. I got covid at SPX last year and I was sick for several miserable weeks. I spent October indoors. I can't afford to have that happen again this year!

About to relive my c. 2002 middle school experience of going to the local mall’s Limited Too first thing in the morning to buy the new Neopets plushies by lining up for the Neopets Neo York pop-up. Trying to imagine explaining this to 12-year-old me in a way she would believe lol.

Ok the Neo York pop up was really fun and cute! I got some ~cool merch~ (my fav was the print copy of the Neopian Times). Even standing in line for two hours people watching & seeing everyone’s themed outfits and costumes was fun in its own way. Sometimes the internet leaking into real life is good!

Thank you for indulging me in some Fandom Posting. Neopets is very dear to my heart because I don’t think I would be a professional artist today without the site encouraging me to stay creative as a kid. Now my drawing of my 25 year old beloved Zafara got to be on the wall of the official pop-up :’)

I’m so happy Neopets is doing a pop-up here and added a bunch of NYC themed items to the site so now my pets can embody both the ecstasy (having a nice day in the park) and the agony (having a horrible time on the subway) of the city.
