Ugh. I kinda enjoyed @reckless.bsky.social's content, but having a known Epstein associate/customer on is crossing a line. Principles have to matter.
Rs have been cheating elections for literal decades at this point. The fact that we let them control the narrative around this and we're not holding up elections until this can get ironed out is just... embarrassing. Again, we are not a serious democracy. www.reddit.com/r/PoursTea/c...

Hacking a voting machine (as suggested in the teaser) isn't the problem. That's how you find and fix weaknesses. The problem is that they were told not to tell the vendor (or anyone else) what they found, so the result could be kept on the shelf and used to cast doubt on election outcomes. Yikes.
I got bit by this rule pretty hard once. Now it's practically a default behavior of mine. I think I kinda annoy my co-workers lol. I get asked why I don't go farther in my changes and my answer is always something like "Because I don't understand fully why things are the way they are yet."
Chestertonβs Fence is a principle of decision-making that states you should not remove or change an existing system, law, rule, or physical structure until you fully understand why it was originally put there. Watch full episode with HTMX creator @htmx.org youtu.be/9xs0oZN2rs4
Every company is going to get bolder and bolder in pushing the limits of what society will accept. "Fuck you, make me" seems to be the prevailing sentiment. We will have to make them.
Bleecker Street, the film distributor overseeing the theatrical release of Alex Gibney's documentary Musk, was informed on Friday that the film's TikTok account was subject to "permanent suspension." tinyurl.com/4yd9997x
At this point this behavior is so beyond precedented it's hard to take comments like this seriously. Saying this in a news conference is either gross incompetence or willful ignorance.
On March 25, Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said in a news conference, "The lawsuit today challenging the categorical withholding of all evidence from a state for criminal investigation is unprecedented in American history."
> That what has made us so successful and so resilient as a community, what has advanced computing so far so quickly, is the process of building coherence. This is an absolutely fantastic read.
My thoughts on the current state of AI driven software development, why I'm no longer concerned about a runaway intelligence explosion, and what I think is a far worse outcome we could be walking into maevyn.codes/decoherence

I'm honestly at a loss for *how* there are any RCE vulns in React at all? I just don't understand what choices lead to that being possible. github.com/react/react/...
Fun fact about Autotune: If you can hear it, they did it wrong*. It's literally used on like, 99% of music you listen to. And not in the colloquial use of "literally", I mean the traditional, historical use of "literally". (* or it was an intentional artistic choice)
that basically explains why AI stuff blows itβs like auto-tune for ideas, like yeah you hit the note but you lose the subtlety, the richness, the soul
