Just say you lied, dude.

When Anthropic was created, its co-founders pledged to commit 80% of their personal equity holdings in the company to philanthropic causes. As they prepare to take the company public, they appear to be walking back that pledge.

I expect the DOJ to show up at my door any day now to accuse me of fraud for buying that bottle of fish sauce last year and never using it.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Assistant AG for Fraud Colin McDonald: "Apparently 35% of people have never even used their Obamacare account for any health services. That is a statistical impossibility and it's because these are not real people seeking real care. These are fraudsters."

No one is attacking prayer. But I, for one, am sick of it being the only response to tragedy from people who can actually do something to prevent the next one.

Mrs. Betty Bowers@mrsbettybowers.bsky.social

Oh, honey . . . If God really listens to your prayers about deaths from gun violence, He would have answered the one *before* the latest death(s), beseeching Him to allow no more deaths, not the one after He ignored that prayer and allowed one more death to occur.

Ron and Cassie DeSantis: These two crooks stole $10 million from a settlement with a charity, wired it to Cassie’s fake “charity,” laundered it through two puppet organizations, and then used it for political ads in an election year. They should be in jail.

Leave it to the White House to not only post an image only a psychopath could love but leave out that it's from a viral video of a goose *defeating* an eagle, which video some Stephen Miller aide pored over to try to find the one moment where it looked like the eagle was winning

I support universal health care. But please stop implying Medicare has no premiums. It does.

Abdul El-Sayed@abdulelsayed.bsky.social

Let’s talk about Medicare for All. What would it mean for the individual American? ⬇ The day you’re born you get a card that gives you health insurance with no premium, co-pay, or deductible. Doesn’t matter if you get a job, lose a job, turn 26 or 65, get married or divorced — it's there for you.

And yet, Tennessee is DEAD LAST in public schools funding.

Tennessee Lookout@tennesseelookout.com

Tennessee’s next governor will enter office with a $1.2 billion surplus, partly driven by inflation and higher-than-expected corporate tax collections, after the state finalized the books on its most recent fiscal year. @friedmanadam5.bsky.social reports.

Another morality test for Republican voters. This one is in Florida. My guess is they will fail and return this lowlife to the U.S. Congress.

Mother Jones@motherjones.com

If Cory Mills wins today, it will be a testament not only to the power of a Trump endorsement but also to a GOP that has fully turned the other way when it comes to allegations of egregious misconduct.

I don’t agree with all Abdul El-Sayed’s views, but GOP “othering” is a disgrace. He was born in US, educated at Bloomfield Hills Andover, where he captained football team; Univ of Mich; Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar; Columbia, where he earned an MD. Debate his views, not whether he’s a “real” American.

AOC is right. Take the reins!

Acyn@acyn.bsky.social

AOC: Millennials are not punk kids anymore. We're grown adults with mortgages and kids, and that generation is starting to be decisive at the polls. And there is anger at being ignored, having our economic futures mortgaged by the generations that came before us and we're taking the reins

I wish I could attach a PDF of the whole thing because it is terrifying, but... I chatted with Perplexity AI about the reported blackmail test and use of autonomous AI agents in U.S. military and U.S. intelligence. In the end it said:

Talarico understands how to frame an issue in simple, easy-to-understand terms. He will do well this November.

James Talarico on Texas officially banning THC: “Texans aren’t going to stop smoking weed and eating edibles because politicians in Austin say so. We are now telling full-grown adults how to live their lives. This is the nanny state at its worst; this is big government at its worst."
