There are three kinds of hotel showers 🚿 1: Rain shower that floods the bathroom 2: Automatically alternating water temperature between “freezing” and “boiled alive” 3: Combination of 1 and 2

Current status: very much gone overboard with a Zebra ZD421 printing inventory labels. From a Next.js app that remotely connects to the printer over Tailscale through a tiny app that runs on a NUC on the same network.

Is it me, or is Claude Code much faster and more accurate (one-shot) when building an app in Next.js vs Rails?

Recap of my 3-month sabbatical, two months in: currently upgrading from Claude Pro to Max. ✨

Friday night. Nerding out over screws (3D printed a bunch of boxes so I can store twice the volume in one container, and easily move them around).

Live from the Buzzsprout greenhouse at #RailsWorld 😅

Our very own Roy Tomeij recently talked to Marty and David at Rails World Amsterdam, discussing the European Ruby community’s revival and the growing landscape of Ruby conferences. Check it out on the Ruby Gems podcast: www.buzzsprout.com/2509083/epis...

Working on a high-precision turntable for diorama display that can rotate continuously, and in 180, 120 and 90 degree increments. Waiting for the belt for this POC (will eventually be made from HDPE with heat insert threads).

And off we go! 🚀

Running a bootstrapped company in a highly competitive market meant generating enough operating income to stay profitable, but not enough to challenge the status quo. That’s about to change… 🚀

Someone called unparsed mail merge tags in some email an “AI failure” today. In the middle of the Venn diagram of “computer” and “something I don’t understand,” it doesn’t say “AI.”

I'm covering a bit of Customer Success today, and I love that we created a place where the below is an acceptable reply 😅 "Yes, you should be all good! If "the system" keeps bugging you, please let me know so we can use some blunt tools to try to make it behave better."

My wife and I bought each other tickets for Maria Mena's concert in Utrecht, NL, tonight. Double surprise! So now we have two tickets left over... Anyone who'd like to go tonight? Pay it forward later.

Found my (very old) bulletproof vest while cleaning out the attic. Uncomfortably hot to wear in a club, and fortunately never really needed it. I threw it away, but not the memories of “the good old days.” 😎

So, best iOS app with proper Apple Watch support for tracking runs? Extra points for training plans and tracking walks and other activities. I used to use RunKeeper until they shittified their Watch app, Nike Run Club since, but open to suggestions. Paid is no problem.

People saying “all that preparation and nothing happened” clearly have no clue. Nothing happened because of all that preparation.

“We don’t want to pay €X for APM; that’s more than Y% of our hosting costs!” Could be. Now calculate how much your checkout process not properly working going undetected will cost you. False economy. 💸
