Given that we now live in a technological era, can’t we re-name the US to something that starts with an earlier letter of the alphabet so I don’t have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the drop-down menu of countries when inputting my address?

Changed out my stickers I have available at Cat Scratch Co-op and got some delicious pastries while I was there. (Riku 🐈 totally took a bite as soon as I took this photo because of course she did)

Our show last night seriously rocked! The best shows aren’t played for HUGE crowds but instead for *engaged* crowds and it’s not every day I felt how much that audience was loving the heck out of our performance.

Limiting political access to people with wealth or who can otherwise afford to quit their jobs is one of the reasons we are where we are as a nation. So maybe let's not do that?

2 of my bands are looking for guitar players. A dude replied to my post in a fb group, I sent him the song, & he replies with an unhinged message saying “I guess this means I’m not your 2nd or 3rd choice either”. Now he’s saying *I* ghosted *him*?! Excuse me!

Here is a Q for the social media managers (I realize there aren’t many on here) and/or people who make their primary living selling stuff online: is there a platform left that still reliably moves units? Gets people to show up to events? Etc? Or is it a slow and steady decline across the board?

Science confirmed. My twin kitties actually lick each other to make each other move so they can steal the other’s spot in the middle of the night when they’re both sleeping next to me.

Anyone with more than one cat can tell you this, but nice to have it confirmed with an empirical study.

🧵This story is insane in so many ways that others are more qualified to analyze. Can only add that viz US foreign policy, Rubio, the nation's top diplomat, acting as viceroy of Venezuela is derelict, unconscionable, & impeachable. The SecState's time is scarce, valuable, and not outsourcable. 1/

Think. About. This. The U.S. Treasury receives the revenue from most of Venezuela’s exports, then disburses it gradually to Venezuela through the country’s private banks…. Mr. Rubio and his team set the conditions on what that money can be spent on, and by whom. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/11/u...

Happy 38th birthday to me, and happy 250th to Horatio Hornblower. Also a happy 9th gotcha day to my Horatio 🐈‍⬛. I can’t believe I’ve had him for a whole 9 years now since the day I brought him home as a smol floof.

The first American President to have been born after the Declaration of Independence was Martin Van Buren, born 1782. He was 6 when the US Constitution was ratified. Van Buren was from the Dutch-speaking area of Kinderhook, NY & spoke English as a second language. He died in 1862, age 79.

In case we were in doubt about how the Framers viewed multilingual-ism, it's possible that the first *printed* copy of the Declaration of Independence was actually in German, published July 5th, 1776. The English version wasn't distributed until July 6th. 9% of Americans in 1776 spoke German.

Since the president has signed an EO making English the official language of the United States, here is the first non-English copy of the Declaration of Independence, printed in German just days after July 4, 1776. We have always been multilingual. cdm16274.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/coll...

The president is a compulsive liar. And I mean really. Just look at the way he didn’t just say “that’s a picture of me as a doctor” but actually gave reasons why, that sounded like he fully believed them yet didn’t make any sense when you listened to the words. No wonder nothing he says is true.

I knew a compulsive liar in highschool. When she did something bad to me and we stopped being friends, another classmate said “I grew up with her, she’s a compulsive liar”. My reaction: “wait, you mean she didn’t live in New York? She didn’t have a best friend who died?” Nope. She just said…words.

I just started using sketch markers in the past week, and today was clearly my lucky day because the local art supplies store happened to have buy-one-get-one copic markers AND they actually had a specific one I wasn’t able to find elsewhere and they only had one left.
