Galaxy cluster MACS0416. Home to "Mothra", an extremely distant star that is magnified by a factor of at least 4,000 times due to gravitational lensing. 🔭 🧪

Treat yourself by watching this loop for a while. A close-up of the surface of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, seen by the Rosetta spacecraft's OSIRIS camera in 2016 and processed by @landru79.bsky.social. The "snow" is actually dust particles... in front of a moving ocean of stars.

This is one of my favorite vertical panoramas I have ever shot! It was taken in Southern Patagonia in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park with the Milky Way in the sky above. I shot it at 24mm and combined 5 horizontal images, stacked vertically. #art #photography #astro

Overwhelming beauty... These aptly named Pillars of Creation at the heart of the Eagle Nebula are part of an active star-forming region in the nebula and hide newborn stars in their columns (Credit: NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI/Joseph DePasquale, Alyssa Pagan, Anton M. Koekemoer)

There's always a good side in almost anything. For instance, we're having cold blackouts again because of Russians. It's the 3rd winter that they have tried to strip us of electricity and heating. But. It's just the time to unwrap the telescope and fly across the universe all night long.
