Join #CultShelf this Tuesday at 9 PM Pacific for HELLRAISER! A man escapes from Hell and while killing to regain his human form, Hell’s minions are looking for him! You can find the movie on Amazon Prime!

And with that, thanks #ImpromptuTheater gang! Next week, we go back to Roger Moore and some voodoo action in LIVE AND LET DIE! Until then, take care and have a great week!

#impromptutheater That was quite a shock to see M die. That really wasn’t something you saw in a Bond movie before where a supporting character that long running met their end. Of course, they really pushed that for NO TIME TO DIE.

#impromptutheater Another visual trick using the burning Skyfall estate as a main light. The cinematographer had built a wall of lights to simulate that effect for the night scenes.

#impromptutheater We revisit Bond’s past in the follow-up to this, to probably more diminishing results. We will not be watching SPECTRE next month.

#impromptutheater While the basic outline of the script comes from longtime Bond writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, the credited script is from John Logan.

#impromptutheater Mendes was pitched on this by Craig (they worked together on ROAD TO PERDITION) while he was a little sloshed. As Craig mentions, he told the producers he may have accidentally offered Mendes this movie.

#impromptutheater This whole sequence against the changing neon lights is really impressive. Some really creative photography in this movie, especially during the climax.

#impromptutheater And “SKYFALL” triggers him. Of course we learn why but that was a question a few people asked when this word association thing popped up in the teaser trailer.

#impromptutheater “We packed all your things away in storage. Standard procedure for a dead agent with no next of kin. You should have called.”

#impromptutheater I would be remiss if I didn’t mention in lieu of running the Trek movies last month of the passing today of Walter Koenig, Pavel Chekov himself. Left us at the age of 90. RIP.

#impromptutheater Photographed by the legendary Roger Deakins. He got an Oscar nomination for this, but ultimately nabbed it for the first time with BLADE RUNNER 2049.

#impromptutheater The last movie had the bad luck of not only being a direct sequel to CASINO ROYALE (expect that in November here), but being hampered by a writer’s strike.

#impromptutheater The theme song and the work on the sound editing won Oscars that year. Also was nominated for sound mixing, score, and for photography.

Looks like the Bond movies are sticking around for November, so we’ll be doing some of the best ones, starting with a late Halloween tinged one. Stay tuned… #ImpromptuTheater

This was directed by Sam Mendes, who did AMERICAN BEAUTY, ROAD TO PERDITION, and also is finishing up those four (!) Beatles biopics. #ImpromptuTheater
