Mbappe or Kane for the Ballon D’Or? I know Spain have won just about every award tonight so far but I think (imho) that both Mbappe and Kane have been on another level, especially during the World Cup.

Again, what is the reasoning behind a heat winner’s post mortem chat about their successful episode of ‘Mastermind’? A winning finalist I could understand but a heat winner who progresses to the semi final? Genuinely, who gives a fuck?

I’m still plan on picking up book 3 of the Starlight Grove series next month though as I genuinely love the characters in that series. I just sincerely hope it doesn’t fall victim of Copy and Paste Syndrome. 😬

I loved the first two books of the Starlight Grove series by Catherine Cowles, book three is out next month. I saw the Sparrow Falls series in town and picked them up and started reading them. I’ve made it through the first three books and started book four. I read about how much they’re loved

FMC ends up being kidnapped by The Bad Person with MMC coming to the rescue. Rinse and repeat. The individual characters are interesting, the plot could be too if they were expanded upon just a little bit together and I lose interest which is supposed to be the whole point of the damn story

So I’ve put the last three books on hiatus for now but I’m so damned disappointed. I do not get the hype for this series. I read a lot of romantic fic (as well as crime and historical) but I at least expected some individuality and not copy and paste. It just comes across as lazy and unimaginative 🙁

And I am not seeing it and I’m so disappointed but essentially each book is a copy and paste of the first one. Just change out the names, twiddle a little with the circumstances but the FMC is always running from/ hiding from a previously bad situation. The MMC rides to the rescue

After giving the FMC a super cringey nickname that no one in their right minds would use in real life “reckless’, ‘thorn’ and (blech) ‘warrior’ Also the MMC is unable to speak in full comprehensive sentences and is overprotective, stubborn and self flagellating in parts.

Enjoyed the first episode of ‘The Northumbria Mysteries’ on BBC One this afternoon. Showcased some of Northumberland beautifully I thought; Dunstanburgh Castle, Alnwick and Morpeth. 😊

When you get excited at discovering a new author within the genre you’re currently reading (romance) And then three books into a different series by the same author, you realise that they’re actually rather formulaic. Oh the disappointment…

It’s a definite upside to my husband now being retired that I now have more cups of tea made for me. I’m so used to making my own that it’s always a lovely surprise when he makes and brings one to me without being asked 😊 And he makes a very good cup of tea too 😁

Here it is. Two weeks ago. You’d think a confirmation letter would be here by now wouldn’t you but nope. They will have sent it second class and that takes at least ten days to arrive these days if they posted it off the day of the phone call. Royal Mail should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

Husband gets a text over the weekend from the hospital telling him they’ve made an appointment for him to attend his MRI on his heart and to call to confirm. Thing is, they haven’t said WHEN the appointment is. And the number is currently constantly engaged (being a Monday morning, not unexpected) 🤨

Husband is going for his heart MRI tomorrow afternoon. The only reason why we know this is because the hospital called him this afternoon to confirm he’ll be attending. He thought the appointment was next month; hospital were supposed to be sending a confirmation letter. Have not received letter.

The appointment was made for him at least two weeks ago and there is no sign of the letter. Royal Mail has been absolutely shocking in their delivery of medical letters. Not had a single one prior to an appointment this year. If hospital hadn’t called this afternoon, he’d have been none the wiser.

The chronic dry eye symptoms, which I’ve had for close to 10 yrs now was something I didn’t expect with peri/menopause but apparently it’s ’a thing’ & it is an absolute pain in the arse to deal with in general but especially if you’re a big reader like I am and blurry vision happens because of it

In my case; most of the below but also including chronic dry eyes. That has been the most debilitating as well as annoying physical symptom for me. The anxiety, heightened emotional responses to everything & the brain fog are also not fun to deal with - all of which I deal with pretty much daily.

Today is World Menopause Day. We can’t pretend to know what you’re going through, but we can try to show you we care. #WorldMenopauseDay #Menopause

I’m watching the 40 Hits of 1986 programme on bbc 2. That was the year I turned 17 and discovered Jon Bon Jovi 😍 Two years later I met the man who is still my husband who at the time had more than a passing resemblance to Richie Sambora (and no I’m not sharing a picture of him)

All stable on the blood test/ renal stuff for the next six months (huzzah!) Kidney function fluctuates asa rule but mine has improved very slightly for the first time in a year so methinks husband’s retirement has worked to my advantage 😉 (6 months today he retired)

It took so long for season 23 to appear on Disney+ and the fact that the entire season dropped all at once makes me think that will be that for new seasons of NCIS on that streaming platform (but I’ll be happy to be proved wrong)

Finally watched all of s23 of #NCIS. Some great arcs & episodes (eps 13. &19 esp) & of course a cliffhanger ending. Have a feeling s24 won’t be coming to D+ so I’m hoping 5USA hold onto their second run rights & I’ll see it then as I don’t have Sky Cinema for Paramount + (I don’t pay the sky bill)

Russell Brand is a grubby disgusting vile excuse of a human. He has made my skin crawl from the very first moment I ever saw him. There is absolutely nothing going on behind those eyes of his and I wish for justice for every one of his victims.

Well I called this dance off. No preference on who stays and who goes. #Strictly

If there’s any justice, then the dance off should be Shaun v Melanie. I don’t care which one to go, they’re both equally disappointing #Strictly Thought both Tabby and Delta were phenomenal and John was undermarked.

After an early start and an incredibly busy day, I am so tired that I’m almost cross eyed with it. It also doesn’t help that my son is a night owl and bedtime won’t happen for a couple more hours at least and I’m the only one he wants to do his bedtime routine #autism #asdmum

I wasn’t going to watch this series of ‘Portrait Artist of The Year’ because the judges last year annoyed me so much with their choices that I didn’t watch the final. However I found out that this series has 3 new judges which made me change my mind & I’m glad I did, they’re a breath of fresh air.

My youngest kid is an adult & a very good one at that. She’s sensible with a good head on her shoulders and yet I still worry that she’ll be okay when taking her first weekend trip out of town with just her bestie as company. She’s made her train, met up with said bestie and all is well. And breathe
