El-Sayed: "We had a little debate. Or I had a debate and he just pointed at me and said, 'He's Muslim.'"

โš ๏ธ An investigator left the Effingham County, Georgia sheriff's office in 2021. Nobody turned off his access to Flock. Five years later, he used it 60 times to track his wife. This mass surveillance system isn't only unconstitutional, it also has terribly slack security. Fuck Flock.

I saw a video and heard someone yell cuidado. What are the odds it was a MAGA Karen upset that brown people were on the field. Her field. Her Kansas.

Watching The Diplomat and seeing a major character get shot and it makes me so sad because I like the character and the person who plays the character. Sad that I wouldn't feel that way in real life. It's come to that.

REMINDER: Rep. Ilhan Omar came to US in 1995 when she was 12 with family as part of asylum program. She became a US Citizen in 2000 at 17. She got married 9 years LATER on Feb. 12, 2009 at 26 years old. She did NOT marry her brother or anyone to become a citizen. She ALREADY was a citizen!

Oh they must be really panicking if they're bringing up Soros again. There's a new right wing billionaire giving 50 million to some right wing candidate or PAC every day and the problem is new left donors? The fact that you have to lead with George Soros tells me this is nothing. F you @wsj.com

I am not one to argue about British words vs American words. Brits call them biscuits. Americans call them cookies. No problem. But #GBBO, if you are going to specify an American-style cookie challenge, I expect American style cookies. Not Norwegian. Not Australian. Not Bangladeshi. Not miso.

From 16,000 to 185 to Zero. The Trump admin claimed as many as 16,000 noncitizens had been registered to vote in Nevada. Then DHS came back and said the number was actually 185. This week, Nevada told the admin every single person on the list was a lawful citizen.

Watching these interest rates go up, I'm so glad I didn't get an ARM when we bought our house. That being said, when I was a kid, mortgage rates were 16%, so even though houses were way cheaper, you ended up paying a lot for them.

Funny how CNN is banned from the White House, yet it is perfectly content to have representatives from this administration come on air and lie through to their teeth in defense of White House policies. Here's a tip: talk shit about them but don't allow them to spread their lies.

Where's the investigative journalism around the #KennedyCenter. All I've seen is "there's a fence up" or "there's a Hands around the Center on Friday" Thanks transcription. Not journalism. Where are the interviews with current employees who can state that the Center is not in disrepair?

There was a story in the Post about college freshman moving home in droves after like two weeks in college and this makes me inexplicably angry. Not just at the kids but at the parents who have raised them to be completely helpless.

It's never gonna happen, but what does $5,000 to "every adult American" mean? Green card holders? Welfare recipients? 18 year olds? The disabled? That 5k will violate the whole "you can only have 2,000 in your bank account at any given moment" Seniors who don't make enough to file taxes?

Football season has started which means Americans will forget about "football" until next year when the Women's World Cup happens. So much for that bump hosting the men's World Cup was supposed to give. It was a nice distraction, but was never gonna change things.

Trying to cut the cord but impossible to find decent news coverage. Usually NBC and ABC have decent streaming. But not on weekends. CNN is playing breaking news from the Lindsay Clancy trial that has been declared a mistrial. BBC news is good but half the episodes are Spotlight on Tech

Watching a documentary about the passage of the ADA (mostly the work put in by activists to get it passed) and it's absolutely sickening to know that it would never get passed today. Not by Trump. Not by Vance. Not with Cruz, Hawley, Paul, and Tuberville in office. Expect repeal efforts in fact.

I generally despise NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas (tonight with Jose Diaz Balart) but you have to love the juxtaposition of a story about high gas prices for Labor Day followed by a story about the US accidentally bombing an Iranian oil tanker. Yeah, that'll help!

Today I had the unfortunate thought of wondering "is Andrew Sullivan still alive? I haven't heard about him in years? If he's alive, he's irrelevant. If he's dead, I don't remember him passing and it didn't register" Anyway, he's alive. Irrelevant but still a dick apparently. Damn libertarianism

All these people discovering MapQuest. They did the same with the Gulf of Mexico brouhaha. And you're just NOW downloading MapQuest? You've been using Google maps and Apple maps since then? Knowing they capitulated?

The PoS from Celebrity Traitors US somehow showed up in my FB posting, as one would guess, a shitty post. I'm like how did you end up in my feed. I KNOW I am not looking for this type of content. Reported the content for being a scam and blocked.
