Ok so the thing is Ultraseven has some fun episodes but it also has. So Many. Bad or boring episodes. And these aren't equally distributed in both number and timing. Those first 20-something episodes were a painful slog to get through

Bc, you know, when you are a man of a certain persuasion, keeping your hair in a ponytail kind of signals "I am ashamed of having long hair and am too lazy to maintain it but I'm also too lazy to get a haircut" but I'm proud of my hair, I take great care of it, it is my favorite feature of myself

I have long hair, I don't keep it in a ponytail unless I'm exercising, I just keep it all down because as long as I am perceived in public as a male I would rather look like a stoner/drummer at first glance than a software engineer

Ultra could do a Pokemon plot, but Pokemon couldn't do an Ultra plot. Ya feel me? You can do all kinda of fun episodic kaiju adventures, but then Ultraman would say "fuck the JSDF btw" and John Pikachu would nervously tug on his shirt collar
