Musician friends, which music streaming distributor can be used for classic music — incl. Apple Classical — and is one-time payment? (CD Baby stopped supporting Apple Classical. I’m not a fan of CD Baby anyway)

Was lovely to visit @sickhouse-nl.bsky.social a while a go. Go check them out if you can!

Zebra 3 – ArpeggiosEven though Zebra 3 doesn't have a dedicated arpeggiator yet, you can create arpeggio-like performances!

Today is Freesound Day. 🌟 With a great programme, to visit or stream. The event includes a talk about some of the inspirations behind Soundsystem for Silence, the immersive installation I co-create with Ricky van Broekhoven and Nikolai Gillissen (Myubio collective).

MTG-UPF@mtg-upf.bsky.social

Join us in the upcoming activities to celebrate the 20 years of Freesound: “Sounds to be Protected” at the CCCB in Barcelona (Oct 23-26) and Freesound Day at the @upf.edu (Oct 28). All the activities are free, but registration is required for the Freesound Day: www.upf.edu/web/mtg/home...

Albert 🙏 I was happy to discover your writing about Soundsystem for Silence. Thank you. #Myubio #CanFramis @mtg-upf.bsky.social #PhonosFoundation #FundaciónPhonos #SoundArt #ImmersiveArt #ImmersiveExperience #ImmersiveInstallation #SpatialSound #RickyVanBroekhoven #NikolaiGillissen

3 Transcending time and space does not mean that teleportation or time travel is possible. No, quantum teleportation isn’t normal teleportation. It rather means that there could be patterns that are universal, that are everywhere and anywhere (under certain conditions)…

4 These quantum patterns can also be formulas, algorithms. And in quantum computing they are trying to discover these algorithms. So far, only tiny bits of it have been discovered, hence quantum computers still hardly have any applications.

My conceptual, non-mathematical explanation of quantum mechanics, in 4 steps. 🧵 1 Quantum mechanics are the most fundamental layer of existence. The smallest parts and mechanisms…

2 This layer seems to have properties that transcend both time and space. Since we, humans, can only experience existence through time and space, things get illogical when we try to understand QM. Even our scientific instruments become (somewhat) counterintuitive in quantum science.

If you can, stop using non-stick pans. PFAS is absolutely horrible stuff. So much is clear now. Better pans also last practically forever, as opposed to planned obsolescence.

Looking for #NoiseCancelling advice. 90% of the time I'm happy with the ANC of Airpods Pro G2. But, sometimes, when I need to work in for example a very noise café, I want to really strongly dampen all the voices and background music. Would #InEarMonitors be a good option? Other recommendations?

Anybody who does something with #sounddesign, #audioediting, etc. (video too) should install FFMPEG and get the commands from an LLM (I use ChatGPT). Incredible secret weapon that has saved me so much tedious work.
