They say cockroaches will outlast us all. We'd settle for outlasting your database problems. New look, same resilience: distinct parts, adapting together, make the whole stronger.

Transgender rights are not a permission—they are the right to live itself 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 Existence doesn’t need any permission, you know. Why does the world treat something so simple as if it were optional? It is the baseline of being human ♡ Chiitan will keep raising their voice.

I made dinner in my new apartment today Midway through making dinner, I realized I didn’t have a knife to cut the paneer with and had to use a fork as a makeshift knife #AlanisMorissette moment

Right framing. It's not 320 vs lossless in one pass, it's generation loss. Lossy->lossy (mp3->aac over BT) is the real killer: each codec drops different bands, so cymbals & reverb tails smear. Keep lossless as the master, transcode at playout, never store the transcode.

I’ll never understand why the currency symbol has to go BEFORE the number unlike idk every other unit in history? You even have to pronounce ₹100 as 100 rupees so why not just write it after the number?

I love LibreOffice but why did they have to name their spreadsheet software "Calc"? Everytime I try to open the calculator from drun, I end up opening "Calc" instead 🤦‍♂️ #linux #libreoffice

Anisota is pro-goblin. We are also in favor of other critters such as gremlins, raccoons, and pigeons. We promise never to suppress creatures and cryptids, unless one begins to scare away all the moths.

Just pulled my first image from space Image of India from 825km up. Image from Meteor M2-3 LRPT (72k) received using an RTL-SDR v4 over Hyderabad Decoded on Fedora using SatDump. #SDR #Space #MeteorM2 #SatDump #LRPT #India

Does anyone know why all these badass defense contractors have these Law Firm -esque double-barrel names? - Northrop-Grumman - McDonnell-Douglas - Fisher-Price - Lockheed-Martin etc

The W^X (Writable XOR Executable) policy states that a memory page is either writable or executable, but never both Since 0^0=0, It technically also prohibits a memory page from being neither writable nor executable (i.e; readonly) I’m filing non-compliance reports against every major OS, brb #OS

@t6e.dev huge thanks for working on the Steingass sqlite database Indo-Persian† was the lingua franca of India for centuries. Reconstructing its phonetics is nearly impossible because the Abjad is unforgiving with vowels. This romanized dataset is literally the Rosetta Stone of Indo-Persian.

I grew up learning that the lion lives in a (majestic) den But in national geographic I’ve only ever seen the broke ass lion sleep under a paltry tree that barely has 4 leaves. The PR team is working overtime.

It looks like CNN has started broadcasting in anamorphic widescreen as of today The hegemony of big 4:3 is finally over

It bothers me when channels that natively record in 16:9, letterbox their video into a 4:3 frame for their SDTV broadcast. This is inevitably stretched again by EVERY modern TV resulting in a stretched image with black bars on top of it. BBC gets it right by using anamorphic widescreen instead.

Is it just me or does the omega in the Wikipedia logo look like it's not curved along the curvature of the globe unlike the other letters? #wikipedia

They ought to be updating it once a week at this point

This doomsday clock guys need to be meeting wayyy more often than once per year Like whose idea was it to make it an annual thing? Nuclear escalation won’t wait that long lol

Ok you gotta admit “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone“ sounds way cooler than the original name “Sorcerer’s Stone” evokes a picture of a mysterious wizard with an enchanted gemstone “Philosopher’s Stone” on the other hand makes you think of Socrates trying to pass a kidney stone #HarryPotter
