Phil 🇫🇷🍼 (French SaaS-dad)

I just deleted my Stripe account. Why ? Because I realized I pay them 2k€ every month and they buy NOTHING from me. not. a. single. subscription. That's over 24k€ of Annual Reccuring Deficit (ARD) Not good 👐

As a Frenchman in the US, let me say : WTF ?

My new 2025 world view : All startup ideas are bad unless proven otherwise All Twitter/Bsky posts are misleading unless proven otherwise

I have been trying to reach out to Facebooks groups of potential users but admins either respond or tell me straight away they do not want to affiliate I thinks it's because they are afraid of scams...which are very present in several marketplaces I am considering paying them to listen 😅

One interesting difference btw FR and US is the "personal space" thing My 7 yo likes hugging or poking other kids in a playful way (not hurting them) In FR neither kids nor teachers would mind Here in the US, we had to teach him not to do it. Other kids feel attacked if done without consent 😅

What would you recommend? blog.saas.com OR www.saas.com/blog/

I am thinking about starting a blog for my product Any recommandation of a SIMPLE tool that is : - already optimized for SEO - easy to plug into a blog.mysaas.com address - easy to use - ideally has multi-language built in ?

The state of Twitter today... I know I should ignore but it's hard

Unsolicited parenting advice : Do not give anything with ADDED sugar to your kid before 3 y.o. This is when their tasting and eating habits form. They do not need it and if not given any, won't ask for it In France this habit is growing but here in the US, noone gives a F*** it's crazy 😅

Anyone can recommand an AI tool to translate a video from French to other languages ? I just tried Rask.com but the voices are terrible...

unsollicited parental advice : Stop caring about your kids' clothes and let them dirty them We're back from 3 days in the national parks and my 3 sons had a blast running, climbing and hiding everywhere 😅 Their clothes are now 10% coton, 90% soil/water/sequoia resin but who cares ?

I'm on a 1 week vacation with the family (first Thanksgiving in the US) Hiring a freelancer to do customer support allows me to do this. Such a big upgrade on my quality of life ! I pay him around 2k€ per month but the peace of mind it brings is so worth it. Would recommend once MRR is at 15-20k€
