A 25 year old is different from a 35 year old, but they are both just "adults" Adult names need Pokemon style evolution. Adultino, Adult, Adultra, Adultried, etc

Email? Spam Physical mail? Spam Text messages? Spam Calls? Spam People knocking at the door? Believe it or not, spam If someone can make an adblock that accepts micropayments from advertisers who bid for attention, we'll all be rich (somehow)

WTF is this mandatory age verification on Blue Sky in Texas? I get it, our laws are goofy, but can't I just like pay a dollar to prove I'm an adult human? Like, VPN or whatever, but also screw cowtowing to that.

How has it never occurred to me before that I can refer to my parents as "my producers"? "I can't hangout that weekend, I need to go meet with my producers" "That hairstyle was a choice my producers made" etc

Texas invests $5m in higher ed - yay! The funds are for "Forensic Psychiatry" - yay! what is that? [Google immediately returns articles about its use in assessing migrant detainees & asylum claims] - ... Texasss, this better not..

I, personally, believe that Ghost (1990) is the scariest depiction of ghosts in film. Pretty much my entire case is this scene's horrifying suggestions about their world:

Lots of facial recognition and general surveillance advancements in recent research papers. IEEE Signals processing as an example. And well, hm, I don't think I love that in my 2026 plans but TY

I feel like technology-volunteering should be more of a thing too.. Like, I just want to fix my hometown newspaper's website for them, but without a forever commitment Is there a platform/app that does something similar?

I check Google Trends randomly throughout the day and I always wonder if celebrities count these types of "who tf?" searches as a positive or as cringey:

I feel like the role of "documenters" in society are still, somehow, undervalued. Family recipe book writers, geneology nerds, archive.org, Stone Henge builders, etc. What we remember of the past determines what we know how to do in the future.

Please y'all. Please. Move sensible things to server-side generated pages.. 2026 can be the year of remembering that HTML exists

I forgot that Fern Gully made a generation of kids think injured bats were cool enough to pickup. Hexxus' secret victory? In this Ted talk, I will..

I'm fidgeting with streaming subtitles using a local model, since they vary so much. The random Star Trek episode I played to test ended up being kinda funny:

Career question for data/analytics folks! ~8 mo in a "data analyst" role and a higher-up asked me to define my real role, the D/A stack, and our hiring plan Does designing the warehouse/modeling/orchestration/BI/tracking architecture count as Architect? Engineer? Something else?

Why does negative feedback feel more helpful than positive feedback/praise? The only thing I can come up with is that critique gives a boundary for the performance space, but positivity is open-ended.
